Tuscan spare key- Who? Where?
Discussion
I have only 1 set of keys that came with the car when I bought it. Having no spare key is already a concern when at home but a particular thrill when driving abroad on holidays.
Where can I get a 2nd key and who might be able to "add" that key to the immobilizer? I have spoken to Carl Baker some time ago, who advised that he would be able to do that, provided XXXXXXX is working and can be repeatedly XXXXXX (which is possible in my case).
Trouble is I somehow never managed to drive all the way down to visit Carl for that single purpose (which I now starting to regret, since I understand he moved even further away).
Can anyone on here advise if there are any alternatives to Carl Baker, ideally Cambridgeshire area (well, I know, that's probably asking too much!)to get a (working!) spare set?

I got a couple of new fobs from Abacus Alarms.
Thanks for the feedback, but... even if I get a spare fob- how do I "add" that to the immobilizer? If I understood Carl Baker correctly, once the 2nd key/ fob have been lost, the new (3rd) set need to be "added" to immobilizer (apologies if that is utter BS, but that's what I understood). I am sure that if I'd try to do that myself, the car definitely would never let me open a door again, let alone starting engine and drive away. And I would still need a 2nd key, which I assume should be the least of my worries?Flying Penguin said:

Do you have the alarm code card? If so, I think you just supply the number to the people making the new fobs for you.If you don't, you need to remove the meta m99 alarm box and post it off to abacus or wherever. They will then program a couple of new fobs. Cost was £119 last time I checked.
There is a limit to the number of fobs that can be coded to the alarm. If that has been reached (i think its 6) then alarm unit and fobs need to go off to a specialist for reprogramming. The problem is, if you dont know the history then you can get as many people as you like to code it and it may not work.
I have the instructions somewhere for coding fobs to a box as long as the 6 hasn't been reached. On my car, either the box wouldnt talk to the fob properly or I had reached the 6. David Gerald took the box out and sent it off.
Fobs are coded to the box by a complicated sequence of button pressing that is guranteed to leave you insane, as one false press and you have to start again!

Hmmmm... Now I am confused.
I do have the card/ code, but if I understand you correctly, if I order a new fob, chances are it won't be recognized (or 6 already added in the past; who knows)?
So the only safe bet would be sending the Meta for re- programming?
Oh and what about the key (not fob) itself?

Fob has to be coded to match the code on the card. But if 6 keys have been paired then you cannot at a 7th without a re-prog of the meta unit. If you have a correctly coded fob, try to pair it. If it fails then off to meta or someone.
Key is Vauxhall IIRC. You buy the blade and fit it to the fob (I needed to drill a small hole in the blade to secure it in the fob)

Thread resurrection time!
I've only got one key for my Tuscan and would obviously like a spare.
The button on the key does nothing and is broken. Instead I have a separate fob on the keg ring which unlocks the doors and you have to press before the car will start.
Am I right in thinking I just need a new Vauxhall key cut to match the existing?

If you get a key with the newer black/grey case, the pcb from the round fob should fit.I've only got one key for my Tuscan and would obviously like a spare.
