TUS 373 - going...going...
Discussion
Well, the time has come to begrudgingly put the Tuscan up for sale. If I had the deep pockets of JK, this car would go in my supercar garage amongst a noble collection of other fantastic cars.
It has been a great experience being the custodian of this particular chariot, particularly touring around Scotland in autumn. I will be gutted to see her go - and I think my friends, family and neighbours will miss seeing her as well.
So, anyone looking for a well looked after, serviced and sympathetically piloted pocket supercar, check out the classifieds. (but then do absolutely nothing about it, so my wife has seen that I have advertised the Tus, but I can after all keep it!!).

I can imagine how it will be missed.
You should know that TUS 373 was the inspiration for my recent search for a Crystal Topaz car. We saw it at Blackpool in that wet and windy car park and really haven't seen a colour scheme to compare since!
If I hadn't already been lucky enough to secure a similarly good car I'd have be on the

Good luck!

Thanks Ron,
Oooohhh - I remember THAT Back Home alright enough. We nearly had to rope all the cars down to stop them from floating away. A true piece of Lancastrian liquid sunshine. I had spent all week cleaning the car - even the underside of it, all the chassis tubes, the dampers, the insides of the wheels etc etc. It was better than new, and then it just fissed it down all day long. Still, the damp car park made watching the autotest a spectacular event. The turning of circles was no longer a disadvantage compared to much older Tivs, could just power around on the throttle, LOL!
I've seen your car too - it looks like you have a good 'un and I know that Jo has looked after it well. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine for the last couple of years. The power of these things is ridiculous compared to anything else I have ever driven. You can easily lose anything that is tailgating you, assuming you have a clear stretch of road ahead
- have fun it and may you be followed by rays of sunshine whenever you have the roof off

Sorry i was looking at the moonraker black Tuscan, However i still hope you sell your Tuscan
Time to come clean - that's mine up for sale

... plus something possibly red and possibly of Italian extraction...

Well, no plans right now - but cash and business permitting...I could be looking at a classic TVR to restore - or plump for something very new...or just stick some money in the bank while I look for a new career/business opportunity.
It might sound strange, but in some ways the modern TVR is just toooooo fast to potter around country lanes in. They can reel other cars in with ease, even more exotic machinery. I could be persuaded towards a nice classic machine which although not as fast, could be rewarding to drive in a less frantic kind of way. I don't know is the short answer...

Sorry to hear you are selling her Bryan. If it wasn't for your car I would not be driving around in a Crystal Topaz Tuscan myself.
I first saw your car on the run to Tankersley Manor a couple of years back when I still owned a Chimaera. I had always wanted a Tuscan but Mrs Chim didn't want me spending any more money on cars. However when she saw yours she said I could have one as long as it was in the same colour scheme.
Good luck with the sale. At this rate I will be the only Crystal Topaz Tuscan owner left in the North.

Crumbs - so my little Tuscan has made at least 2 people succumb to temptation on here then!
Mine is a similar story in reality. We had a lovely Chimaera for 4 years and popped into Christopher Neils one Saturday morn. They had a CT Cerbera demonstrator and we thought wow, what a colour. They also had a really horrible coloured Tuscan in. We got thinking, hmmmm - that crystal topaz colour on a Tuscan could work quite well.
Its funny how some colours just suit some TVRs better. I love red, white and black wedges, silver or navy Chimaeras, red Griffs, yellow Tamoras and Cerbies. The Tuscan, looking unlike anything else on the road, almost cries out for some special colours. The CT works well as it is eyecatching without being very OTT. We waited until the right car come up for sale - preferably with a cream interior, and the wife willingly agreed to swapping the Chim off for the Tus. The rest is history.

Hi Bryan,
So sorry to hear that it's going hope you get what it and you deserve, mines is half heartedly up for sale at present as my company has been in voluntary liquidation since february, it is a moral issue, as it is unfair on the people we still owe monies to at present, for me to be seen driving around in a car such as the Tuscan, until everyone has been sorted.
At the moment though, we are currently touring the UK and in particular the Highlands, I'm off to a rock concert in Glasgow tonight then tomorrow down to Hampshire for a couple of days.
I hope nobody makes me the offer I have placed as I will just garage the car till the dust settles properly, at least I will feel that I have done the right thing in placing the ad for all to see.
As a footnote for anyone else DONT tour the Highlands in shorts and T shirts, we stopped at Torridon for a photo shoot and out of nowhere came a swarm of flying pirhana's, I've now got polka-dot arms and legs which itch like crazy.
Best of luck for the future and don't desert these forums,
Regards,
James Sim.

Thanks James.
I've decided to sell based on financial sense as well. My MBA has cost me a not insignificant amount of money over the last 12 months so I would feel more confident with money in the bank than a car in the garage. Of course, if someone makes me a good job offer over the coming weeks, I will be hitting the delete button on the advert and keep it!
Hope your business woes get sorted swiftly and satisfactorily James - and you can keep yours.
I know what you mean about the mozzies in Scotland. They would have your arm off if you gave them the chance!
Hi Bryan
Good luck with sale mate, as you know you where one of a few people who adviced and eventually persuaded me to purchase my Tuscan
I have never regetted it but it sounds like quite a few on hear will now not have the opportunity to sample a speed 6
after all if i was to
all the Polls and Threads then i would never have bought one
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rebuilds at 1K 5K 20K do i give a damn, the research i did, nearly 2 years ago now, indicated a rebuild rate of around 33% so nothings changed their then
What i would be concerned about Bryan is trying to sell a speed 6
at the moment on the back of all the negative comments,
You shouldn`t have too much problem, as yours is a movie star
speak soon Tony

Thanks Tony. Yeah, if I'd listened to everything I had heard, I woudn't have bought one - but I let my heart make the decision - and I was right to do so. I bought the car for one reason only - PERFORMANCE! It cannot be denied by anyone that - these cars don't lack this - they are awesome. I have developed an unhealthy fascination with motorway sliproads since I got this car. It made my Chimaera feel veeeerrrryyyyy sloooooooooooow in comparison - and they are not exactly slow cars!!!
If there is someone out there looking for a Tuscan, they would be overjoyed with mine in every respect. Shucks, I don't wan't to see it go...
