i was/am going to start my search for a tuscan this weekend, but i have to say im very nervous about ownership, all the info of late is very interesting and useful but still scary.
i remember before i bought my cerb how one dealer was telling me things would forever be going wrong yet the car proved to be fantastic even though it was an early one,so who do you believe?
i have in my sights a tuscan with a rebuild done just a few hundred miles ago,so a safer bet than some i suppose but im still worried.
its difficult to balance what you want with what makes sense.
just thought id air my thoughts.
mike.

It does seem daunting, doesn't it!
Just parted with a few £££s meself, hope to be picking up the beast next week! - like me you've already done your TVR "Apprenticeship" so you know what sort of thing to be expecting. At least we'll know that there are always a few TVR "features" to keep us on our toes, not to try and floor it on a damp road and to expect aching face muscles.

I reckon there are three important things to remember about going into Tuscan ownership:
History
History
Oh and History!!!
(To borrow a well worn cliche!)

Buying one's no more/no less dangerous than it was last week. You've just got an idea of what the extent of the problem is. Make an informed decision - decide if it already having a recent rebuild is worth paying a premium for, decide if buying a warranty/keeping a contingency fund will mitigate the risk.
If you want one, buy one, but as with all TVRs - go in with your eyes open.
And if you've found one that's only just being rebuilt, all the better...
