Helpful insurance company shock!
Discussion
Car's in for it's post rebuild tweak this Thursday, so I rang up Tesco expecting no end of grief about explaining to them it's now a Red Rose, that it has uprated suspension, and that I need to be insured on TVR Power's Chim for a day or two.
Long story short: Zero cost.
Admittedly, it took me 15 minutes to stop them from charging me £250 for the Nitrons. Handy hint - turns out that whilst "uprated suspension" adds £250 to the premium, "lowered suspension" adds nothing.
And another 15 minutes to get them to change the spec of the car, as they don't have RR on their list of models... it's now down as a Tuscan S as that's the closest one, (which is what the V5 says anyway). If it gets written off now, I should make a nice tidy profit.
Again, no extra cost. Marvellous.

Yep, I too have only praise for Tesco insurance. Not only were they the only people who would insure me (Perfect record but early 20s male) on
the Griffith for sensible money but when I arranged test drives in a Tuscan valued at twice as much there was no charge either. Compare this with my father ( perfect record, somewhat older :-)) who couldn't get his (well known) insurance company to cover a day in an Audi S8. period. BTW, the lady at Tesco helpfully suggested that I wasn't taking the Tuscan out for a test drive (think test flight....), I was using it as a courtesy car. Test drives do cost extra with Tesco. Hope that helps some others.

I too have found tescos very helpful. My T2 in factory like everybody elses, Now have a courtesey car from them (a tuscan) and they cover it at no extra charge.
Got to be a cheep way owning a TVR, no servicing, no depreciation, no maintenance, no road tax.....
WHAT!!!!!!!????????
You mean you've got a Tuscan courtesy car?
F

Mines been off the road now for 6 weeks having the back end rebuilt and i've been driving around in a poxy van. Gonna give them a call right now as i've got courtesy car cover but thought that I wouldn't bother as i'd only get a corsa.

D'oh.
BTW to keep the thread on track, Tescos have been the danglies. They were £750 cheaper than the cheapest so called 'TVR Specialists'

Excellent service.
