Oil Tank Potential Leak

Has anyone noticed a problem with the plumbing on the heat exchanger (at least I think thats what it is) fouling on the rear near side of the oil tank. This is a metal union rubbing against the aluminium oil tank and I assume eventually it will wear through. Tank looks expensive!

The heat exchanger is on rubber mounted brackets and I have been able to re-align the metal work to keep the union away from the tank (but only just) Wondered if this design flaw was perculiar to my car?
