Have just discovered a dirty great big nail through one of my rear tyres. I'm currently running Toyos (245/40 ZR18). Presumably I need to replace both rears at the same time - anyone any preferences re. makes etc? Anything to stay well clear of?

I've pumped it up but it is going down slowly - what's the tyre weld stuff like? I can't pull the nail out as then it will go flat in a matter of minutes.

Cheers,

Nick

I have had punctures mended following a nail in the past, on high performance tyres. So if they don't need replacing for any other reason I would test the water by asking for a repair rather than new tyres, and get a second opinion, or even a third, before forking out for new tyres.
