Dinky front number plate

Saw a dinky, very small front number plate on a reflex purplish Tuscan at Chatsworth yesterday - are these legal and where can I get one from?

They're illegal.

They're about 15 quid.

and what is th epoint on a Tuscan? The front plate sits on a solid bit of the grill so there is no benefit in having a smaller plate - on a Griff/Chim/Cerbera it opens up the air flow in to the radiator and so has some benefit, but on a Tuscan there is no benefit whatsoever
