Should be getting the Tuscan back from it's "holiday" in the next week or so. To blot the memory of the last few months of ownership from my mind, I'm changing the number plate on it, and am planning on having it resprayed a different colour (when I've got the money to spare). The question is, what colour?

I don't want any plain, really dark colours, or greens (unless it's a flip job), and it's not going to be crystal topaz (too many around, as nice as it is). I'm currently thinking Cascade Copper (assuming that's what the "Desert Moondust" now is). Other ideas?

think they are different colours. cascade copper is more browns... more 'jobby'. moondust has more yellows and golds. Have a look on sleepy fish.

Have you seen it in the flesh though. I saw one at TVR Centre.. it was just toooo bling bling.

I think the gold flip on sleepy fish (at the motorshow) is awesome though.. that would be the colour I'd choose.

Hi JS

Glad you hear it's getting sorted (drop me a mail with an update.)

The colour might depend on how long you want to keep it.
A Chameleon Blue or Reflex Purple would be my choices if you wanted an easy resale,
but perhaps you want something bolder, Casscade Copper as you say is very nice,
but would perhaps restrict any future sale.

Maybe have a word with a specialist paint shop like Ewelme Coachworks
who might have some samples to show you?

Lots of shots here:

Nice headlight mods at the 2/3's of the way to the bottom of the page

Good luck and keep me posted.

One of my favourite colours is dubbed Manchester Ship Canal - because it looks like oil/water mixing. Can't find a picture of it on the web (there was one somewhere) and I don't know the official name!

Cheers,

Andy.

I would go with Reflex Charcoal.. stunning colour in my opinion...

More importantly, what colour is your interior?

Thanks for the feedback, all.

Interior is nice and neutral - full Portland Grey hide, with grey carpets. As good as it gets, IMHO.

Powerlord, the gold flip in that pic is just a little too bling for even me! I never made it down to the TVR Centre to see that Desert Moondust one - I'll take your word for it that it's a bit OTT, too.

GCerbera, I'll drop you a mail later today, promise!

Also, does anyone know if it's legal to have a car completely mirrored - i.e. chrome/stainless steel effect all over?

Hi James,
Don't know if it is legal or not. I suspect the laws have not considered such things. Also, I was told my a TVRCC member that a friend of his with a Tuscan was going for a chrome effect paint job - something that I didn't even know existed. I think this was an aftermarket job, not something available from TVR. I would guess that the bodywork would have to be absolutely spot on with no imperfections for it to look right though.
