Having just been towed home, again, by the RAC I am now really at the end of my tether with this pile of expensive ****.Bought brand new 1.5 years ago, it's been 1.5 years of stress and disappointment.Numerous problems including safety compromising doors flying open on the motorway, windscreen wipers locking in front of each other in a rain storm , actually I have a very long list.Over 30 phones calls later to TVR "customer relations"?? in Blackpool and I am certainly still not satisfied.Having spent £700 on a service with Logic dealership in Fife- (A dealership which I stongly suggest be avoided at all costs from my own personal experience with them), only for the car to break down the next day was the icing on the preverbiale cake.I am now so sick of this car and the company that made it that I am now resorting to legal action. This car does not meet the supply of goods act 1994.I very much regret buying this car. It has been a huge disappointment.

That's a dreadful litany of problems. Throw the book at them and good luck. there is no reason why anyone should accept a lemon.

invest, you have my sympathies - it is unacceptable in modern times that unreliability exists to this extent. I guess that even if you instigate legal action it will be some time until a conclusion is reached, and in the meantime you still have a car which you have little confidence in. May I suggest you contact NOELV8 (see his profile on this site) who is not too far from Fife. He is probably the most knowledgeable TVR engineer in Scotland and I am sure he would be of immense help to you with your problems. He has great empathy with customers problems and is a realist. His charges are very reasonable and he fixes things properly first time around. I have also found him to be a good counsellor when TVR brain damage occurs !! Good Luck with whatever course you choose.

TVR Engineering Ltd. are a strange beast. I've read many postings where individuals have had nothing but problems with the factory service centre. Thene there's everyone who have had nothing but good things to say. I can sympathise with you as I've had many problems with the London dealer (who no longer hold the TVR franchise), however, the factory has been very helpful and always fixed any problems that crop up.

I wish you luck in getting results.

BlackMonday,

I wonder if you bought from the same London dealer as me cos the one I dealt with also no longer sell TVRs.

I too had a TVR Tuscan (bought new in Feb 2001). I'm surprised you've had it so long, I sold it after 9 months, (though at almost half the price). Owning this car was the most horrific experience I have ever encountered with a car!! (and I've been used to quite a few previous specialist cars and motorbikes so thought I would be prepared with the odd bit of hassle). I also looked into taking legal action but was advised by three different solicitors it would be a very long drawn out process without any guarantee of redress and could take several years .....(which would mean continuing to have to live with the car!!). Cut my losses and bought a Porsche.
