As i started my car today the speedo needle decided to go backwards past zero and is now resting at about -12mph and Diagnostics Code A is showing on the screen. The speedo still works but is 12mph less than my actual speed, which is shown correctly on the digital display. Is there anything I can do to reset to speedo to zero.

Thanks

I've never had Diagnostics Code A before - "Speedo not activating zero switch/switch failed/open circuit" - but Code L frequently occured before my 1000 mile service. When I phoned TVR's service centre they said this was a mechanical fault and would need to be sorted when serviced. I would recommend contacting the TVR service centre to ask them directly as they have always been helpful and friendly.

Code L -erratic road speed signal is normaly resolved by a newer sender unit being installed the origional had less cogs and sometimes caused the code L.

Code A - essential means the speedo isn't resetting and I would imagine is a problem with the stepper motor.

All I can say is speak to your dealer who should soon be able to set about resolving the problems.

Thx for the replies. When I started it up this morning, after trying several times yesterday, I got a Diagnostics code B! and the speedo when up 6mph to -6mph. The next time I started it there was no error message and the needle went back to zero . So everythings back to normal and I have no idea what happened, and I've lost any excuses I might have had for speeding

The official Diagnostic B description - Speedo not releasing zero switch/switch failed/short to earth.

I haven't had any codes recently except for LOW FUEL
