Help Broken thottle cable on a sat.night peddle box end,is it easy to replace and what type,or back to the work shop.

Hi there, were you broken down on Lee to Gosport road saturday evening? Wonderful looking blue/purple tuscan? by side of road?

same happened to me ,the metal bit on the end of the cable snapped off where it goes through the pedal, just fitted a universal end back on it and its been fine. rac/ aa vans carry them. good luck

Is it worth carrying one of these around with you incase this happens?

Yep this happened on my Tuscan in April. Design fault apparently. I got 2 replacements From Offord Motor Co. About £70 each inc VAT.

Basically the problem was the original cable used a plastic and rubber connection at the pedal box which used to slip around under wear and tear and then finally break.

The new version has a screw and bracket which lessens the angle of attack into the bulkhead (stop it chaffing by all accounts). I carry a spare in the boot and the new one has improved throttle response no end!!! Good luck fella!
