Any Tuscan Owners who had no problems at all????
Discussion
No major problem since my car was released from the factory. I've followed the running-in procedure religiously and had my 1000 mile service done at the TVR Factory Service Centre. There have been minor problems, but nothing I haven't experienced on any other car I've owned from new/second hand. These included the intermittent wipers not working properly, the analogue speedo not showing the correct speed when accelerating, passenger door not opening all the time. To date there have been no problems with the Speed Six, or any of the other mechanical bits'n'bobs.
This is my second TVR and I'm happier than ever with my Tuscan

I've owned a Tuscan from new for 18 months now and it has been nothing but trouble. Having only done 10,000 miles the list of problems is as follows: The lander valve has gone twice, the LED display has failed, the handbrake didn't work, the boot will not open when it rains??, the engine developed a problem and was burning oil by the bucket load and then started back firing, the air conditioning broke, the fan belt has gone, numerous bonnet clips have come off and then finally the engine has developed such a mjor fault with the cylinders or something that it has been sent back to Blackpool to be overhauled. So far it has been with them for seven weeks and in total the car has been off teh road for 15 weeks since I bought it. I have not been given a courtesy car of any sought and not received a single phone call to give me an update.
The car has been nothing but trouble and will most definitely be the last TVR I ever buy.

Drive mine hard everyday and no major problems. My confidence is such I am doing 3000 miles in 5 days in remote Norway and Finland at the end of this month. Can be upto 300miles between towns!!
Been to both places before - the roads can be a hoot if a little straight. Enjoy, I wish I was going...
Cheers,
Paul
I read your message and for a moment thought this was my message !- see "last straw" written yesterday. I have almost exactly the same experiences and can completely understand your frustration. It's not much help to you but you are not the only one! We are planning to contact all the car magazines, scottish papers consumer editorials, Watch dog and call trading standards, maybe you should also do this. How much bad publicity can they withstand- I hear TVR financially are in poor shape.

What the b.hell are you trying to do? Kill the golden goose? I understand that TVR can be not exactly forthcoming with information and service, but they are a small company with few resources and a very overworked staff. If you try and bring them down out of revenge, how would you feel if you suceeded? When you buy a TVR you need to go into it with a very open mind and the realisation that the car will not have had the same amount of development compared to the Ford fiestas of this world, consequently the first customer is the development driver and things will go wrong. If you expected bullet proof reliability and every system 100% sorted than don't buy the newest and latest TVR but the one they've been making a few years and let someone else do the development.
