An end of an era...

Said goodbye to my baby today, as she headed off to her new home in Cornwall.

Very sad, but I know she'll be looked after. Missing her already....

Don't know now... have an order for a VXR220 for the end of the year, but I'm not set 100% on whether I'll take it or not when it arrives...

Maybe TVR can tempt me again with their new beast at the motorshow....

I've kept the plate. UR 02 SLO will be seen again.. just got to find something worthy...

I sold it for a mixture of reasons. Mostly finances though. Just got a bit of a cash-flow issue at the moment and the TVR payments were eating into too much dough. Also the warranty was nearly gone, and with the engine issues I was put off a bit from dealing with TVR again in the future.

Not really sure what to go for next at the moment. Audi Le Mans sounded interesting and apparently they're taking deposits now for cars next year? But it's not a TVR is it..

Doh.. I dunno. Let's see what goodies there are at the motorshow.

I think I had yhe same thoughts as you Andy, but after trying some of the German things, I discovered that they don't give the satisfaction of the love-hate emotion you develop with a TVR, besides I like the TVR-community much more than the whole rest. All people with money buy Porsche's and the like, but people who drive TVR's stand out (IMHO) If I could afford it I would own both, but I decided to let my heart speak and am happliy awaiting my first all new TVR now. PERFECT IS BORING.

I know. I do miss it. Was a fine specimen even if I do say so myself. Just had the front end all done again for selling it and looked brand new when I handed the keys over on Saturday. The guy got a very nice car.

I did like the Sagaris, but i'm not sure I can stretch that far on another new car now. I didn't have a flat last time. Bit at a loss on what to go for now....

Oh.. and in memory...

That video clip...

This is the issue with TVR's

There is nothing, not one thing that fills the void when they go.

You find yourself looking around for something that excites the head and the heart and theres just nothing.

You find yourself looking at the Cerb classifieds and then spending the day going 'oh but they are so nice, but what about running costs, oh bollocks to the running costs they are so wonderful, it'll blow up, but look at that interior, it'll fall apart, but its just got so much presence' ad infinitum.

Well I do anyway

must say mate that was the most stunning tuscan, beautiful colour and the reg plate finished it off. I know you kept the plate but that was just a dream car to me

Try now...

Shnozz, thank you for the comments. I did love it to pieces. If I was to buy another, I don't think I'd want it any other way. Same colour, same interior......

As for the replacement. I know exactly what you guys mean. The VXR is just to give me something to take my mind off it to be honest. Lol. I dunno, it's a great little car, but it's not going to be a true replacement for something like the Tuscan.

I can see myself just saving the pennies til next summer and trying to buy my old car back.. lolol.

Hmmmm. Know what you mean about filling the void left by selling up. I'm wondering what to do at the moment, maybe selling the Tuscan and my every day Saab (which has cost me a fortune and has been much less reliable than the Tuscan, tho' it should be OK now!). Get the money together and buy a single, brand new car - BUT WHAT? I cannot see anything on the market that delivers the full package.

Other alternative is to buy a ex Tuscan racer and convert it for road use, and get another everyday car. I think someone needs to talk me out of this as the thought of a Tuscan racer in the garage, that I can tinker with and take on track days has a certain appeal to me. But then again, I love my Speed Six and don't know if I can part just yet!
