Hello Chaps
I'm looking for the "workshop manual" of the Porsche 944 (all models). Has anyone here any idea on what to do but leaving £1,000 to Porsche to find one?
Any experience welcome of course

Gmund books (www.gmundbooks.com) do a factory workshop manual for the S2/Turbo (1 Vol) for 80GBP. It is also for a 'UK Spec' car - dunno if yours is LHD or not.

However, I think they may do a Haynes manual for the 944. Probably available on amazon or something. Would this be a cheaper and more user friendly solution?

The Haynes does exist for the 944, but only for the eight valve models; and anyway I was told that the workshop manual was definitely more complete.
Actually I am looking for the genuine article.

Thanks Dom

I would have thought any book on a VW Camper van would cover the engine, then you just need a TR7 manual for the exterior thom.....

The shortest jokes are the best, I've had enough of your slow-witted comments on my OLD car (yes, don't forget it's 12 years old).
911 drivers do criticize my car very well, I don't need a Tiv owner to do his best at it as well

Hey, lighten up old fella - you've had more than one dig at "my" car - good job the wife's got something decent !!
PS - got the Merc serviced the other day at an MB dealer - and been right royally ripped off as well. They charged me (wait for it) 93 pounds sterling for synthetic oil, comprising of 8 1 litre bottles of Castrol RS.
Needless to say, a strongly worded letter has been written.

Greg,
I have authorised myself to mock you because I KNOW how it is to drive an E-class (my mum has one). I was mocking Flasher because of his Vectra, and now he tries to piss me off with my Porsche: to me that's completely like comparing two things which should not be compared.

On a lighter note, I had a run in my neighbour's 944S at the weekend - very nice I thought, particularly with 115K on the clock. No nasty coloured interior either, just a very tidy motor.
Impressed.
Next is a drive of his 924 Turbo

That's right thom, they shouldn't be compared, no TVR has looked like a TR7 for a few years now

And I don't recall TVR ever using a campervan engine in any of their vehicles!!

A campervan engine would have improved the performance of the 2.9 Tasmin!

BTW, didn't you used to own a Blackpool TR7, Flasher? ;-))

It can't be your former car Flasher: it didn't have any "my other car is a Vectra" sticker on it when I got it

Does anyone know where you can get one of those "My Other Car Is A Porsche" stickers? I am so so tempted to stick it in the back of my Tiv as a wind-up (temporarily of course).

Knew a bloke once who had "My Other Car Is Also A Porsche"...

I'd like a "My other car is a Lada" one, that could be really smart on a fine car
