I am ordering a 2003 Boxster and trying to keep costs down would like to add silver interior parts at a latter date.I had thought of getting them from"prestige" parts off the web.Has anyone used them and what is the Quality like?
However it occurs to me it might be cheaper to take the car to a sprayer and have them do it rather than go the prestige route and end up with the original parts as spares.
Has anyone else done this and would an officialPorsche repairer be too expensive?
I live in Kent so any recommendations for this end of the country would be great.
Thanks
Tony

I think www.specialistcarsltd.co.uk had quite an offering the last time I looked. Never used them though so not sure on price/quality.

I am about to use my local OPC to colour code some of my Boxsters interior parts. I have seen some of there work in colour code and silver and it is very good.
Give your local OPC a call.

Cheers

John.

When is your delivery, tony? Or has it not got that far yet? I've got a 2003 on order and I've been told January/February...suits me as I'll have the new car run in for the "season" next year...

To be honest: I suspect it would be a lot better for the resale value of the car if you have the interior trim done how you want it from new...

One car I looked at last year had a a range of options as "dealer fit" - which didn't seem to be reflected in the second-hand price.

That could have been me being inobservant, mind...but that's the way it seemed to me...

Iam getting the 2003 Boxster hopefully in sept/ oct 2002. I have ordered it through micronet and the car is coming from the main Porsche dealer in hamburg. The quoted dealer invoice gives that date but I dont know if that is the build date or delivery to the dealer.I would guess I will get it delivered to my home in Kent by the end of october--I hope!

A mate of mine has a 996 and he had the interior bits sprayed at a well reputed bodyshop - Looks amazing (never seen the factory stuff to compare too though) and only cost him £250 or so all in..

I can agree with the OPC doing the work, had my 996 C4 done and it looked great, also getting the Turbo done in the next few weeks, about £500 all in for my bits to be sprayed.

For the record chaps.

I have now had the work carried out at my OPC, the parts were finished in yellow, as is the car, and the quality of the work is great.

I would recomend getting it done, as it looks much better than b4. £290 inc vat for the centre console, centre dash and headrest grilles..
