Small Boxster roof issue

Hi All,

There is a small "c" clip on the end of a piece of elastic that pulls the roof canvas down just behind and to the rear of the door trim and attaches it to a bar within the roof mechanism. It has unclipped from the passenger side- I can see where it go's but cannot reach it- I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this and come up with a genius repair method!?

Can't picture it but would a trusty wire coathanger be any use in reattaching it?
