Porsche 911 cabriolet. Rear windows.

Could anyone help me with a problem that my freind has on his (1999) 911, when he raises the hood, the rear windows are not raising yet the front windows are.
Just wondering if anyone else as experienced this or does anyone know the reason or solution. The problem now is the car is stuck in the garage because the windows will not even raise with the electric window buttons.
Thanks.
