Just want some advice from you knowledgeable lot........

My 2003 Boxster S is going in for its 4 year service next month at my local OPC. I have a niggly problem with 2nd gear sometimes and I wanna mention this to the dealership and get them to have a look at it / rectify it. Have been adviced by a few indy's that its probably a worn 2nd synco thats causing the problem (common fault that I now know about ).

I purchased the car privately a few months ago. It has 27k miles, fpsh and has an OPC warranty which I put on the car at purchase for piece of mind.

Will the OPC warranty cover a gear selection problem? and has anyone else been in a similar situation? What was the outcome, I'd be interested to know cause I don't have the spare cash to buy a new gearbox from Porsche and the current situation leaves me lacking confidence when driving the car.

The OPC warranty should cover it, but see what other advice you get on here from those with experience of claiming/trying to on the warranty. If it's not covered, Mike at Sports & Classic (you'll find him on here) can fix the existing gearbox, which will be a lot cheaper if you do have to pay yourself. It's his speciality and he's done plenty of them.

Thanks for that info. Is there a website link for "Sports & Classic"

I'd like to know where they are based, just incase the OPC warranty doesn't cover me.

Would also been interested in the cost to repair. So far been quoted anything from £700 to £3.5k.
