what alarm have I got

I have a 996 2000 model and when it ask about thatcham alarms etc etc I have no idea, it's bog standard? anyone any idea? is it thatcham alarm and thatcham immobliser , one or two ?

I would have thought Cat 1 - integrated alarm and immobiliser - as per page 12 of the link, assuming the car is UK C16 spec

Well on P12 it stated "Porsche Carrera 98 Security System
TC2 - 900/1197 R/T S N L All Porsche 911 cars Oct 97 – on S"

TC2 = Thatcham Category 2.

As far as I could work out the only thing it doesn't do is re-arm itself if it is unlocked and you don't enter after a period of time, but I stand corrected.

When I applied to Norwich Onion Direct, they wouldn't cover the car unless it had a TC1 upgrade.

At the start of the table (page 7) it implies that if it's in that particular table it's Cat 1. Or have I misread it? I do see what you mean by TC2 but I think that's just the evaluation number. For example, my 1999 BMW E46 328i is listed with evaluation number "TC2 – 1010/1098" but it's a Cat 1 system.
