Depends how you're driving. Boxsters are certainly pretty good at eating rears, especially if you tend to do a fair bit of high revs/low gear stuff! Michelin Pilot Sports are pretty good IIRC (been a while since I had my Boxster).

That's a bit quick.

Typically, rears should last 6-12k miles and fronts 15-18k miles, depending on your driving style.

Best to have the same make all around and a proper 4-wheel geometry alignment by someone who knows what they are doing.

Michelins will get you much more miles than that.

Unless, of course, your 3- 4000 miles was all on track! hehe

I'm not being rude but...... given what I guess you paid for the car you really ought to stump up for decent tyres - and if they last longer the cost per mile will be about the same anyway. At the end of the day, all that's keeping you on the road is that rubber so get the best you can afford. I've got a contact who might be able to get you Pilot Sports a bit cheaper if it helps.....

ETA: the ones you are looking at might be a bit cheaper at www.blackcircles.com if the cost really is over-riding factor

that was my reasoning in january for buying the p zeros which i thought were top end tyres but if i have to replace them 3 times a year not sure if its worth it although i totally agree its one area like brakes not to skimp.

Seriously, if you can get the Pilot sports for less than £200 that is the way to go (what's on the front BTW?). Didn't look too closely at the site but you may need to pay for fitting at a local place on top of that, normally £10 or so.

OK, think there are some places doing discount if you buy 4, might be worth getting fronts at same time and storing them - at least then in the future you'll have a matched set!

I've experienced many tyres on previous cars and always conclude that there is no substitute for Michelin's Pilot Sport for allround ability. Pricey but worth every penny when your safety is concerned.

Cool, happy driving on your new rubber!

Doesn't seem too bad a price fully fitted - might be worth asking for a discount if you buy all 4...

Biggest problem with tyre wear on Boxsters comes from getting air of a small hill, then rotating 90 degrees and landing hard on the other side. Don't pay too much attention to LEEME3's advice.

I found the biggest problem with Boxster tyre wear was Thruxton. yes That really seemed to do the trick!

Oh hello!

Hey, the tree's still alive ain't it?!?!

And to be fair it wasn't the tyres' fault, more a problem with aerodynamics (or, at least, my understanding of them!!!)

Tyres - work well when combined with tarmc, struggle with air.
