A little while back I spoke to a specialist I'd read about in P911W

concerning older vehicles, and he was saying about an oil
widely on sale,
which he said had the term
'older engine/high mileage' in the title

I think it was a Castrol magnatec product, but not sure.

For the mileage I'm doing this year, he suggested
(following the T/E work now done)
it would be suitable as he'd used it on the 3.2
regularly

I think I might have asked on here before, and Clubsport replied amongst others

but cant' find thred

Rich, it doesn't ring any bells mate.....I doubt it would have been a magnatec in a 3.2,,,more likely castrol RS 10/60...which I think is now called TWS instead of RS....it is the 60 part which may appeal to an engine with a few miles on it.

Why not go to the general gassing and ask the oilman, he would surely have a reccomendation..best of luck

be interested to hear how you get on - my car is burning oil quite badly, i've been topping up the indie supplied VW 10/40 with Halford 10/40 and my engine temps have increased somewhat - level half way etc.

just wondering if happened because of the oil i've added, circa 2 lires

Here I am about to visit halfrauds
although for an oil I've used before
but here goes

This

looks too good to be using 'sunflower' cooking oil in Shirish

I'd suggest draining it all out and starting again with a
known name in oils

But yes I'll post up my results this time

nice one, cheers

and thanks for the compliment.....think you're maybe right about starting from scratch

How long do 3.2 owners leave there oil in for?? Mine is changed twice a year, irrespective of miles....circa 7-9k a year

That frequency seems more than enough,
unless your clogging round' track days every weekend,

although someone will be along and say in a minute I expect.

Any niggles with your car you'd like to share!

it looks fine in the picture though
