This forum has been a depressing place lately for 996 owners,so I wrote a little poem to cheer myself up!
Ode to the 996.

OH how I love my little Porsche
I drive it just for kicks
So far its been very trusty
Even though it’s a 996.

On days like these that are full of sun
Its great to be alive
It may not be a soft-top
But she’s manual- rear wheel drive.

My daily early morning drive
Is so exhilarating
The B-Roads that I go to work
Are flowing and undulating.

Its on these very B-Roads
That my Porker comes alive
Its usually much better to journey
Than to finally arrive

She’s finely balanced-loads of grip
With steering weighted nicely
The interior may be Boxster Red
But whats wrong with that,precisely?

If for any reason we had to part
Id be reaching for the tissues
As she’s got no leaks or broked shaft
Or other engine issues…

She’ll pull about one seventy
If I am in a rush
Although some forum members have expericnced
One eighty at a push.

I know its not an RS
A turbo or 993
But when I settle in my hard back seats
Theres no place Id rather be

Unless perhaps between the mountain curves
Of Angelina Jolie
But that’s got nowt to do with cars
A completely different story

My next buy is a sports exhaust
Ive heard they sound real neat
I think that then my little car
Will finally be complete!

Nice one , Evo ... If Keats and Shelly were alive they'd be shuffling towards the dole queue about now

I do recommend the PSE .. And if you're doing it in Belfast (as I did) they can be 'flexible' with their price
