Spotted white 997GT3 on trusham Road in Exeter, about 7.30 last evening.

Sounded great, even when I was having a meeting in a showroom on an adjacent road, so either the driver was having trouble shifting into second or was possibly exceeding the 30mph speed limit ! eek
As the rear plate was blurred, I would guess the latter!

Looked and sounded the dog's preverbials.

Not that I'm one to speed, but weather was so nice I thought a quick spin was required. The sound just gets better and better the more rev's you give it.

Hello Russ

thanks for the response, wondered if the owner was on PH. First one I'd seen on the move, although it was only a brief glimpse. Glad you're enjoying the GT3, although from all accounts, it seems impossible not to like it. Presume you were one of the 5 that came through Exeter OPC?

Have mine arriving soon, kept delaying the delivery whilst re-buidling our house, then couldn't wait any longer...June build, so should be here in July

Hi kevin,
Yes car came through Exeter, collected from factory mid Feb and on road march 1st.
Mine was 3rd car from Exeter.
What colour/spec are you going for? And should you require a peek pm your details and I will get in contact with you as I found it hard to spec with out seeing a car and the different options.

Hi Russ

thanks for the offer of a viewing, but car's already specced. Did look closely at a couple of static vehicles regarding options, but final spec (options)is:-

white
black wheels
PCCB
bi-xenons
PCM with phone
Sound package

Car's going to be used as daily driver (15K miles pa) so very much a road spec. Was really keen on buckets, then continue with cage, but needed the rear access for the weekly shopping! Deliberated for ages over PCCB, but will keep the car for a while, so will become more cost effective over time......hopefully?

You please with your choice of options?

flow99,

For what it's worth I went for a similar road spec and have a couple of comments:

Phone - Sound quality not great from the car, some people have difficulty hearing me, others ok, not sure why. OPC advised it was better to get Parrot instead, no difference to re-sale - will listen next time.

PCCB - After much thought went for them and no regrets so far. Excelllent bite/pedal feel, no brake dust, no corrosion, and no noise - but not cheap !!

Cruise - I'd say a good option as it's easy to find yourself doing 5-10mph faster than you thought, at least with my foot.

Dipping Mirrors - Work well with the door mirrors dipping as well

It'll be worth it anyway whatever the spec !!

thanks anglebox10 for the comments, and good to hear you're enjoying a similar spec car, particlarly with regards to PCCB, as they are expensive and I read several threads about owners comments (including some of yours, thanks) before finalising the spec.

The phone is crap, we already have one in a 987 Boxster, but with 3 points for using a hand-held mobile, it's not worth the risk.

was tempted with the dipping mirrors, but once the car reaches £90K thought alraedy ticked too many boxes.eek

but can't wait........bounce

That was my argument to my wife!! when we're already vastly over budget on rebuilding our house, and I'm the architect

cancelling the GT3 was almost a possibility......for a few months ! rolleyes
