Hopefully picking up a 996tt on Saturday and just wondered which child seats are compatible? I have a 15 month daughter and 5 yr old boy to fit in the back. I'm guessing the regular jobbies wont fit?

Thanks in advance,
Boon

Britax trio .. Works perfectly once the child's at forward facing age.

Rearward facing seats just don't fit in the back.

We used the Britax Kid 'plus' ... fantastic seat, so much that Vic uses it in her car as the full time seat for Gabby.

Nice design, dead easy to attach, good side head support

Have to agree with this one, but that has nothing to do with the fact that i helped design it...

Porsche Prince is a good seat - made for the job, so fits well. They're not available new anymore, but I picked one up from Ebay...... Worth a look.

That's a useful thread, does one need to go to body shop for rear seat removal, someone on here talked about alan keys DIY, is that advisable?

Buying second hand child seats is a big nono simply because you are taking the previous owners word that it hasnt been involved in an accident! Is it really worth trying to get a bargain & possibly comprimising your childs life?
I realize that you have bought this because they are no longer availible, but as pointed out, there are a couple of child seats that will actually fit & my advice would be to buy new all the time, never take that risk of buying second hand.

Thanks to all for the help, where can I buy one of these Britax kid plus jobbies from? Neither Halfords nor Mothercare have them (only checked the websites).

2 Days to go until I get the car... can't wait!

Its known as the "hi-liner" in the uk, the "kidd" is the German version.

Hey dont worry burriana because the "kid" seat was available in the UK but now it isnt. The UK version was called "Hi-Liner" & now is called "Evolva 2-3" its all a bit confusing, but no need to worry.

Bargain! - I wish. These things were selling for around £200. When I brought mine, there were pretty much no current seats that were available - other than Porsches latest offering at around £500 eek and that was too big for the rear of a Cab. I understand your concern, but the Prince is effectively like a booster seat and uses the cars belt for restaint - it's quite easy to tell with these one piece 'foam' style seats if there has been any 'trauma'.
It's good to hear that there are a few manufacturers listing for Porsche now - especially as after a good few years, I no longer have one.thumbup

The good thing about "booster" style seats are that they are very robust & can withstand alot of abuse, but i personally still wouldnt buy one second hand unless i knew the owner & knew 100% that it hasnt been involved in an accident. The trouble we have is trying to convince people of this because these products can appear to be "ok" on the outside but its hairline fractures that you cant see that will cause the product to fail in the event of an accident & im pretty sure nobody wants to find out that way...
