Anyone know anything about the red GT3 at Hatfield OPC?

It looks nice, and well priced (beings with a "4"....) but when I called the salesman told me it has "been repaired." Fair play to him for being clear with me, BUT

Then it dawned on me that I saw a video on YouTube of a red GT3 rolling in the kittylitter at the Ring... yikes

Is it the same car??

Don't know.

The guy was refreshingly clear - said the car has been "previously repaired and was not recorded."

Can't be many red GT3s around can there?

If it's had a parking ding I ain't bothered, but if it's had a reshell I'll be leaving it well alone..... The one that got rolled in the video was fvcked.

The one on youtube would be more like a re-shell i'd have thought. If an OPC's picked it up you wouldn't think it would be that bad but then again there was the rogue silver 3 with curious handling traits which an OPC were selling.

Didn't the sales bloke give any details?

true enough but I'm surprised it's not been recorded, leaves the door open to some unsavoury activity...

Hmmmm.

He just said that - "it's had an accident but been repaired. I'm duty bound to tell you. It's not recorded though."

Would it be recorded if it was rolled on track and reshelled by OPC?

if it's either been done at the owner's expense or by the insurer (if it's less than 50% value of the car) then no

only goes on the register if it's been financially written off or classed as a total loss by the insurer

then you get the different classification - A, B, C and D

Ok, so assuming it's NOT the YouTube wreck, what should I look for?

Anyway way of seeing a reshell?

if it's being sold by Hatfield the car should have spent its life within the OPC network, therefore they should have all the history regarding bodywork and servicing

also, speak to the PO and if the salesman is duty bound to tell you how does he know?

You mean this one?

Hard to tell but right at the end (when they flip it back) you can see that its a LHD - hope he was insured..!

can't see it at work but if it's a right hander where he lifts off and the car does a triple Salko then that's the clip

Surely a re shell would have to be recorded by the factory as some numbers will have to change?? Alternatively speak to previous owners on the V5. If its OPC selling then they won't mind revealing the history?

After watching the 'ring clip you should be pretty safe - it's a lhd mk1 on the vid.

Try and get hold of the previous owner is your best bet. Reshell unlikely as i'd doubt OPC would sell a car whose numbers didn't add up. Prob be panel damage - front or rear end.

Anything else I need to be careful of, except for checking the previous damage and getting an over-rev report from the ECU?

Otherwise known as "p0rnstar arsehole red."

It's a "colour to sample" option I gather......

"Yeah, yeah, I'll need to bring the wife along when I place the order......" hehe
