Hi,

I have just bought a MK1 Boxster S and to cut a long story short, it sounds c**p in relation to my old TVR T350. Can anyone suggest the best route/product to rectify this most upsetting situation (something very nice sounding but not a chavvy booming)!?

(Edited to say not too expensive either!!....)

Thanks

Rip out the snorkel pipe from the air intake. Does bugger all except reduce induction noise.

Total cost £0.00p & easily reversable at re-sale time - Cheap enough for you?

Just open engine cover and start cutting all the pipes and hoses of with a stanley knife. Sooner or later you are bound to stumble across the right one. Beware though as this may cause problems with any warranty.

It's really easy. Remove the "grille" to the engine intake duct on the left hand side of the car, behind the door & in front of the rear wheel. Reach in & pull out the snorkel pipe - needs a bit of force. Can't miss the snorkel, it's a bit of black plastic tube roughly 18" long & 3" diameter. Then just store the pipe somewhere safe in the garage & replace the "grille".
At least that's how to do it on 986 Boxsters with no adverse effects. Can't speak for 987's

More help (including pictures from memory) should be available here www.boxa.net
