Retina burning orange 928 heads for the Ring!

Found these pictures on VWVortex forum, is this fella one of us? I'm guessing the car is a stripped & caged 4.7 S, just wondered what else had been done to it?

No , I don't think Nick is a PH'er , he is a Rennlister though. It did start life as a 928S 4.7 but now has a 5.4 GTS engine & manual g/box & is set up for track duty (mainly the 'ring)

928 RS ?
With stick on bits?
I think not
I always wonder about this when people put RS, GT3 or M3 on their cars. Do you avoid making conversation? eg "I didn't know they did a 928 RS! So cool!" "Ah, thanks. It's not really an RS. I erm just got the letters from ebay." "oh..."
Now where can I get an illuminated McLaren SLR badge for my Mercedes?

No idea what's going on with the bonnet scoops though?
The wing and bonnet vents both look functional to me. The wing looks as if it is going to get some reasonably clean air, and the vents are in a low pressure zone and will improve air flow and reduce under-bonnet pressure at speed, I imagine it'll run a lot cooler in traffic too.

Spot on there Peter, yes both the rear wing & bonnet VENTS are functional , if anything the wing could do with being a bit bigger & a bit higher (as per the 928 racecars ) & the bonnet vents do extract a lot of heat & pressure in their low pressure location.

Shame it looks so awful though, what away to ruin a decent car (all IMO of course)
Nick is real 928 enthusiast and this is his track day creation. It's not supposed to be a original example, more a functional and enjoyable track car.
He's also got a completely standard 1979 928 which I believe he uses daily - how many of those do you still see on the road?
Judge this orange car for what it is, a track day machine, not some concours original example. They're all functional additions (bar the RS badge
)

)I was commenting on the look of the car not whether it should be a concours example, after all the fact its a track day car doesnt mean it needs to look like its crashed through Demon Tweeks front window (and all the crap bits have stuck) again only my personal opinion
