My 1st 1000 miles in the GT2
Discussion
Well Ive completed the 1st 1000 miles in the GT2
Ive had the local Porsche OPC go through it with a tooth-comb
they found a small crack on the Radiator which was replaced under warranty
Ive had a 24,000 mile service including plugs although its only done 5000
miles ( but 3years old )
I thought it was also worth extending the warranty for another year.
I cant get over how quick this car is , its a different type of animal from the RS,
whereas the RS you can drive flat from the APEX of a corner the turbo has to be fed in slightly
differently .. but the speed.. is addictive
Whereas my 996 Turbo was a was a " Point and squirt " with oner hand on the wheel the GT2 needs lots more concentration especially in the wet or damp conditions
but what has helped is the experience Ive learnt from Trackdays in the RS
It reminds me of the Ruf R-turbo " 550 true BHP " I drove for 2 tanks of petrol in Germany
2 years ago !
But what a car for the money ! - I can understand people sticking the thing in the hedges having come from an ordinary 911 type Porsche
Ive already sucked up 2 Bunny Rabbits in the side Intakes
PS - I cant stop driving the thing ! + It feels like a limo compared to the RS
A very pleased GT2 owner
( now about that 550 bhp upgrade ! )

Sounds like you're having fun
I'd thoroughly recommend an exhaust and re-map, as these cars seem to respond so well to these mods. A good free flowing exhaust will give a nice change in tone, dependent on which manufacturer you choose and a re-map by a recognised Porsche Tuner will also give quite a significant power hike.
Safe driving.

Tim, glad you got sorted out.. we did not need to chat in the end.
My car is having quite a few mods done at the mo, and is back at Fearnsport awaiting parts.
I found the RS to GT2 transition quite interesting, but once it is properly sorted.. should be unbeatable on track!
The plan is to get it handling like an RS.. or as close as poss, but have the 550-600bhp for the straights.
Cheers
