Has anyone ever come across this gizmo, and if so does it work?

I'm getting rather tired of my car eating it's battery when it doesn't get used for a week or so furious

That looks like a good idea.

I trickle charge mine when left for up to a week or more.

Problem is my garage does not have an electricity supply, so I cannot use a trickle charger.

I wonder what impact this would have on the 996 though. I am pretty sure the alarm would go off if the power was cut to it and obviously the tracker would shut down and that would probably invalidate your insurance.

You would also need to re-enter your radio code each time as well

I bought a solar powered trickle charger from Maplins, £10. It may work, apparently has 600 m amps (?) of charge so not powerful. It may work as it keeps popping out of cigarette lighter! I had to get one as no garage let alone no power!

The FAQ states "Any accessory, such as clocks, alarms, computers, memory settings or any devices can be connected directly to the positive post of the battery... The Battery Brain does it all! Battery Brain disconnects all electrical connections other than the ones you desire to leave on. (Those have to be wired directly from the fuse box to the butterfly connector on the Battery Brain). "

HTF does that work? Separate leads for those items?!

Buy a proper battery maintainer and/or expect to replace your battery every 3-4 years.
