Hello you lot,

following on from the rip-snorting success of our Xmas knees up i thought it was high time for us to have another. Sure, its taken me three months to decide that, but look, the point is this: the time is nigh.

so then, I'm going to suggest a two hander as Jamie and I are planning an April fools hoon on Sunday the 1st, thats April fools day, for hooning.

My suggestion is that we all meet up in Cambridge again on the Saturday night, as it was reasonably central for us all and then have a curry and a night on the pop and then crawl out of bed for some in-car silliness on the Sunday, hooning across some of the regions best roads whilst stealing an assortment of crap that some bloke you met on the internet asked you to nab. try and tell me that doesn't sound ace. you cant.

for those of you that don't know, Jamie and I run a little charity hoon thingy where we scope out some ace regions to blast about in and thread them all together with a treasure hunt and some of the most obscure clues possible. your job is to collect items form the plunder list and try and collect the requested pieces of info (for example 'how many dogs are pictured on the sign at the pub at the place we've just sent you to'). its huge fun, as I'm sure the people who attended before will readily attest. theres no need to dress up or owt, you just need to meet us at the start point, donate a tenner per person (all profits go to the RNLI), (max 20 quid per car) get given a map and a clue sheet and a plunder list, and then off we go, silliness abound.

then, allowing for massive confusion, we all meet up a couple of hours later at a pub for a drink and some prize giving. we start at twelve, so were usually done by 230 and then you can all crawl home, happy and hungover.

so then, who's with me? we need 20 people to attend to make the hoon worthwhile, tho of course if you can only make one or the other, it'd still be ace to see you all.

sign in here please, cos from what i know of these things, once a few of you good folk show an interest, lots more come on board.

remember its a) booze (and we like that) b) curry (and we like that a lot) c) a huge laugh with mates (and we like that, plus y'all will get the chance to watch me crash/ break down/ explode in my TVR) and d) big fat hoon-age on a pretty spring day (whats not to like about that?) and e) all for charity (means we get to feel less guilty about frittering 100's of quid away on booze the night before).

more info, and for registration so we know how much stuff to print, is at www.dubloon-hoon.co.uk

c'mon guys, id love to see you all. No excuses, no permission slips, no prior commitments: just move stuff around, and see us there. thats what were all about

And it's for charideee - no? Or was that something else? I'll give a few quid to the RNLI anyway 'cos they're great.

ETA - by the time I hike all the way over there, given that it's Easter and all, I warn you now that someone had better be on hand to feed me a steady supply of Creme Eggs or there'll be hell to pay.

Hurray. Not those mini ones, now. The proper ones - which incidentally I suspect as having got smaller and smaller over the years. Those Cadbury bastards.

ETA - Aww. I'll miss meeting you again, Ballcock. If it's OK, perhaps I should nominate myself to fall down some stairs on your behalf? Shame to let a tradition die. I should be able to fit it in between my own sessions of losing stuff.

Yes. That's about right. It's the little things I miss. Between Creme Eggs, decent crisps, sausages and so on; usually by the time I reach the UK, I'm ready to eat a cow's arse through a hedge.

You've gotta always be late too, to do it right

I'm thinking I should bring up my master plan to invade europe later this year on sat/sunday as there may be some mileage in coordinating that with the usual suspects - it could be a good combo of hooning, drinking and asking for stuff slowly in loud english, where people can drop in and out as they are available

Sounds fab. Check with Ducati Gary, though, as he may be planning something. As for the talking loudly in English, that won't be necessary if I'm there. I can shout loudly with appalling grammar and pronunciation in a wide variety of European dialects. It has the desired effect usually, which starts with surprise, then confusion, leading to fear, then acquiescence and finally abject surrender.

ETA - Late....fall.....stairs.....in front of everybody....HASELL. Pre-fall checklist complete. No worries.

Yup, hoping to chat a bit more about it with him at the weekend - assuming he's not going to let a small matter of having no car get in the way...?
