Driving along today when get a batter warning light, followed with all electrical items one by one turning their warning lights on (air bag, ABS etc) then gear selection gone so pull over and get recovered. Very good service by RAC, and suggestion is its the alternator, and so the battery just died

Question to the masses - anyone had this before, how long does it take to fix, is it likely to be a warranty job, and if not, will it require the donation of my first born to the OPC to fix it?!

Exactly what happened to me when my alternator died. Also had the alarm going off as the final nail in the coffin. Must have looked a right idiot driving along with that thing going.

Always fun!

Did it cost to fix do you remember, or did the warranty pick it up?

Warranty covered it. Though it was the warranty provided by the independent dealer the car came from.
