And the Nissan Skyline, so slow in the corners and would not pul over.

I don't understand why Easytrack allow non Porsches onto an RS day.

i know. hangings too good for them. dont these people know youve got lots more money than them and are therefore better drivers?

well, honestly. if i were you i would write to my MP. the poor have been getting away with stuff like this for wholly too long.

Nervous, that's a strange response.

This is not about snobbery or how much money somebody has, it's just that if a track day is advertised as an RS day you would expect the cars to be Porsches, ie. cars with similar speed and handling. I often do Lotus on track days in my VXR220, they are good because the cars are well matched combined with a high standard of driving.

Skylines are often a pain on the track because they have poor handling but lots of grunt down the straigh, if that's combined with a driver who takes ages to pull over it can cause great frustration.

Ken,
I think i was in the same garage as you? (in the fujeta mazda)hope i did'nt get in any ones way? I bought the day of a guy called Graham who advertised on pistonheads that his car wouldn't be ready (a non porsche by the way)and was hoping to sell it on.The only bad driving i saw was with a guy in a light blue rsr porsche who wouldn't pull over and when he eventualy did he floored the pedal going into Druids the guy in a yellow porsche went to overtake and had no were to go, this caused the guy in the yellow porsche to get a black flag through it.That was the only bit of sh+t driving i saw all day.

Craig

Yes, that was me.

The irony was that your car was very well matched, as I said to you yesterday, I felt slightly guilty non pulling over quick enough for you, I underestimated your pace both through the corners and on the straight.

I think the driving was good yesterday, my only real frustration was the Nissan driver who was a pain.

It was a good day so perhaps I should not be too picky.

The only sh1t driving i experienced was from a white GT3 with yellow headlights, loud exhaust and 10 speed box !, would not let me hang onto his rear and cause me to spin trying, i thought that was well out of order.

Yes there was a blue RSR with a broken mirror and yes Oulton had provided some novel mobile chicanes shaped like a black beatle and yes because there was no security on the gates some poor sole in a Nissan got lost trying to find the docks and ended up driving around in circles.

Great day and some great pics from trackphoto

No point denying it...too many witnesses, cause extra early throttle application, (antilag system) trying to keep with white GT3 with big exhaust and no interior at all !

Had a great day, although was totally cream crackered having done 170miles of oulton in a comfort seat - body aches like hell today.
Thanks to Vic for the ride, never forget it awesome car. Met slippydiff and his tuner Andy, bumped into Ken again and met another fellow GT2 owner whose handle i cannot remember but was on 19" contis - great day.

Followed a white parr GT3 around for a few laps - great close (not racing) and same with the silver GT2 - best parts of the day, incredible speeds on such a twisty cct. Another pic showing you can break and turn in after all...

A few pictures of the "10 speed GT3 with yellow headlamps" Pork alluded to.................
Sounded absolutely stunning while it was still going.
Note the superb "bunch of bananas" exhaust cloud9 (before it got trashed.........)

I was another of the non Porsches yesterday (the purple Elise)

I only invaded the day when best mate Ben (Blue 993rs) announced he was going to make a trip over from bermuda to attend a track day 30mins from my home. We don't get together often so I was buggered if I was going to miss out.
I did email easytrack to check it was ok to bring the elise but after I got no reply I paid on line and waited to see if the "computer said no".

Got to say a big thanks to all the rs owners who made me welcome, I was at the pub on thursday and again at the chinese last night, great atmosphere. People at the circuit were all friendly as well and no one gave me the stinkeye

Brilliant day on the track, I have now got my car to 200miles short of 100k and its still pulling like the day I bought it. I hope I didn't hold up any of the faster cars on circuit, certainly managed to keep a few of the 964rs honest.
The general driving on the day was very good I thought, no real issues at all.

My passenger took about 400 pics on the day so I will post a link when he has them online.

Hope to attend an RS day again one day, but in my own RS!

Cheers
Tom

It was the first time I'd ever been to a track day, or indeed anything to do with PHers. I was just watching, but have to say it was great fun. The few people I spoke to were really friendly. Watching you all go around the track, so only watching and not knowing what it was like to be there, I would comment that the 'dick of the day' was not the Skyline (who was very very fast), but was actually the guy in the silver Imprezza, who just seemed hell bent on passing Porsches, and seemed to be quite careless about how he did it. My other observation from the pit wall was: Porsche, Porsche, Porsche, Porsche, Seat, Porsche etc - what happened there then? What a cheeky boy! I suppose it was good for a laugh. I felt rather exclusive having the only 944S2 there, Cobalt Blue one in the car park. I wouldn't track it as it has done 160000 miles now, which is not the problem, and still has the original clutch, which probably would have been a problem.

I took some pictures whilst I was there, but in two of them there is just the track because you were all going so fast! In one of them I took a picture of Merrit's GT3, center of the screen, press the button - just got his off side rear in the bottom right corner of the picture. There are a couple of good ones which I will post soon, when I find out how to do it.

Thanks again for an entertaining morning. I left just after the noisy white one pranged into the wall.
