997 Price Please
Discussion
Thinking of making a offer on somebodys car, just wanted an idea of what it could be worth on a PRIVATE sale, and what a OPC would buy it for.
2005 54 reg C2S
Black, 5000 miles, sat nav, phone, sports seats, sport exhust, sports chrono, c2s 19" wheels, short shifter gearbox, park assist, tracker, rear wipe.
The warranty has expired so that would add £895 to the price

OPC's are selling them from 53-56K so to trade in they would probably offer 46-48K, privately i would be looking to pay 50K max although some car dealers eg. William Lawrence have the following:-
2005 05 997 Tip
29,000 miles
£48995
Automatic
GREY
Petrol
Seal Grey, Black leather. 29000 miles full Porsche history. Heated seats, navigation module PCM, CD changer, Bose, steel sun roof.
It seems to be a great time for buyers but lousy time for sellers as 911 prices across the range seem to be taking a dip - Yipeeeeeeeeee!!

A 3.6 non S by the look of things, this one`s a 3.8 S.
Tell KayC to give the bloke a call & explain to him how the private sale thing is supposed to work. At the moment the bloke sounds as though he`s after more than a stealer would be asking. Bloody odd that !
Henry
edited to say : At the moment Chris you`re probably hoping to buy the car for not that much more than we would be paying as a dealer so it`s a case of both sides wanting to feather their respective nests.

Just ask him what OPC, there is no way an OPC is going to offer £59k for that car at that year, just go on the OPC website and you will see what they are getting sold for - www.porsche.com/uk/approvedused/pre-ownedsearch/
£53k sounds fair considering the low mileage BUT if he is holding out for £59K then forget it,there will be no room to mounevere, my advice would be to move on and look for another car, there are plenty out there.

Hi Soory to butt in
A friend of mine just sold his c2s to trade 05 plate with 12k miles, small scratch and needed two new tyres for £53,750 - so I would think £53k for this car private is a whopping deal- even at mid £50's it would not be a bad price.
All the early £50's and below cars either have very poor spec, are red in colour or 20k plus miles.
cheers

Red?? - What a choker
The 997 in red is a wonderful thing to behold IMHO
You lot who love your safe silver and black cars can keep them - I'd take the red one and save some money (and probably lose some on trade in as well but what the hell).
Chris
opc offered 50.5k for my old car over 1 month ago - 997 c2 3.8 s with full spec (pretty much everything except leccy seats and ceramics) artic silver , black leather, 12k miles, del 3/1/05, 1 owner.
opc offer was valid for reconfirmation within 48 hrs - i very much doubt they'd offer more than 50k today, prob less.
porsches have strong residuals....u could have fooled me.

My car was ('was' being the operative word) midnight blue, not black. There aren't too many guards 993's around, nothing suitable 6 years ago when I acquired that one. It's recently been written off but I'll certainly be looking to go with a brighter colour when I get around to replacing it
Resale value / 'safety' wasn't on my mind when I bought that one - It was simply the best one available for the money.
