...that atlas grey turbo S at Cambridge? 40k miles for a 54 seems a bit high but apart from that everything's right. How about the price?

what a strange price £64849?!?

pity there are no photos yet. There do not seem to be many atlas grey turbo S's around and the black leather is perfect.

The price doesnt seem too bad considering the high mileage - especially for an OPC although I would be a little put off by the arctic silver interior. It has the "large" package which includes the centre consul which is great but it also has the three part silver steering wheel :shudder: (IMHO)

otherwise its a great spec and probably the thick end of £108k new..........

Does anyone have pictures of that steering wheel?

What do you mean about arctic silver interior? Is this the large aluminium pack?

Seeing it in the flesh Saturday so I'll have to make my judgement then. The mileage alarms me a bit -- my 02 only has 36k on it and this is over 2 years newer. I don't want to get something I'm afraid to drive. I reckon at 4 years old with 55k on I'll never be able to give it away...

Remember what they offer you for your current car will be a good way of seeing what you will lose on the new car if you keep it for 2 years. A good way of gauging whether or not its a good price to start with.

Far too many miles, and seriously over priced. DK Sargeant just sold a silver car with 31k miles all options, just serviced and x50 for £49,995.

They say the x50 has more lag, does this not make it a worse road car? I think your better off getting some ball bearing turbo's, flowed manifolds (£200, no brainer) and a light remap. This will give you more power and more torque lower down.

Just my two penneth.

Don't forget this is a turbo s not just an X50, and you don't mention the age/color/spec. Mileage is sure a worry though. Nottingham have one with half the mileage also 11/04 in black for 7k more so there's already a bit of an allowance for that mileage.

Lag wise, the jury is out. The X50 I tried seemed a bit more laggy but did storm off better once it was on song. I'll try this "s" out Saturday and see how it compares.

What's the collective word on that mileage? In two years' time with 60k would I be able to give it away?

Are they taking enough off for that mileage price wise?

Thanks!

Considering in 2yrs time there will no doubt be plenty of TTs with 60k+ mileage on, I don't see the problem. The only "problem" I see is the sticker price. £65k for a 40k mile car is top, top, top dollar. Irrespective of being an 04 car - when you compare the price to other, lower mileage 04 cars.

My prospective new TT is being PPId on Thursday. I'm not jinxing it this time, but I will say that it's only "problem" is that it has "high mileage" (48k). However it is a 54 plate and has 1 owner (MD of a well-know high street jewellers) and comes with a fPsh etc. It was priced well over 10k south of the car you are referring to (and I mean WELL over).

The mileage doesn't matter to me so long as it passes the inpsection/warranty because I do no more than 5k per year, so in 3-4yrs it will balance itself out. The car has basically gone between a location in the North, and London for the past 2.5yrs. He chopped it into an Aston dealer for a DB9, they offloaded it to the specialist I'm (hopefully) buying through.

OPC pricing... vomit

In time the price differential between an S and std car will diminish. With age mileage becomes far more important.

I would argue that if you are a high mileage driver buy the lowest mileage car you can. If you do low mils then mileage is less relevant.

With 60+ miles you'll be lucky to see 40k in 2 years, poss less.

"just" the 420 version hehe

still, my point regarding price is still pertinent. it's been offered to me @ a fraction under £50k. we're talking about a 54 plate TT, 1 owner, all the toys, fPsh here. but enough of that, I must refrain from divulging until after the inspection this time. damn it!

You decision makes absolute sense, the later ones had better PCM systems and its a younger car. Good luck with your purcase, what colour is it?

Stratstone Aston Martin. They have porker dealers in the group, so if the Aston Martin dealer is having a punt at 59k you bet your life hes been offered at least 5-7k off that for trade.

If you want it I would haggle like mad. They'd probably drop a big way. They are still dropping like crazy.

Open with an offer £10k lower. I suspect they will either settle for something around the £60k then or will wait to see if you *really* want it or walk out of the door. Id just leave them your name and number and walk out of the door. Odds are, they will call back within the week. Do it on the last Friday before the end of the month and odds are they will call you back before the end of the weekend.
