Wet puddle on the garage floor
Discussion
So every time I take the 993 Carerra 2 out for a spin I always (being the anal person I am) look on the garage floor for leaks once the car's out. For the last couple of outings there's been a bit of a wet patch on the floor, just under or perhaps a bit in front of, the right-hand exhaust. It's clear in colour and slightly viscous. Tastes of nothing much. Any ideas whether I've got a leak, or is it just normal fluid/water which comes out of the exhaust on start-up? I only drive it about once a week (leading to the shame of brake-vibrations, which Camtune told me were probably caused by rust-spots on the disks due to under-use... Only one cure for that...)
Thanks,

Rainwater? Possibly, but if I only take it out from week to week, whatever's there when I park would have dried off before the next outing.
Steering fluid- possibly; it doesn't smell too much though and it's definitely not pink.
Could be air-con, but then does air-con still leak even if you don't use it? It was working fine in the summer.
Dunno- shall just run it a while longer and see what breaks first... And no, it's not cat pee, thank goodness.

well if I do manage to get the battery charged for saturday you'll see that it's filthy as it was out in the rain on my last sunday morning run
Ricc, I should think your filthy and anyone elses are a long long way apart.
so's my clean and someone else's

Anyone done any work on the exhaust recently?
On my 993tt it's quite easy to put the silencers back on such that there's a slight leak between the cat outlet and the silencer inlet. Given all the noise nearby there's no additional noise noticeable but it does allow the condensation that forms at start up to dribble out of the opening instead of coming out of the tailpipes as spit/steam.

. there is no shame - just a question of individual thresholds. My retriever does same after a going over with the dogbrush, or even a digestive biscuit. each to his or her own
