Wanna change my standard rear box for something saucy, want the sound but no resonance!

Can anybody with an aftermarket post on their experiences please.. had done a few searches, but not as much info as I would like.

My knowledge of range is as follows..

9ff.. heard this on a gt2 and sounded fanatstic
Tubi.. know nothing about these
Europipe.. website pics look great, no other knowledge
Fabspeed.. have seen website vids
Milltek.. personally think these resonate, have had on M3/CSL

anymore..?

Cheers

Can't be of any help to you, but I think I might change my TT exhaust so I'm interested in the comments.

Incidently there's a Milltek advertised in classifieds for a grand,, good buy ?

Miltek is very quite compared to the TUBI i have fitted 4 of these now and these are very well made and sound very nice on GT2 and TT..price is £2300 +/- and fitting ontop plus VAT as a rule..

Manu at scuderia systems can supply these exhaust systems and he is a top bloke.

Europipe seem to be a favourite on rennlist. Can't comment on whether it drones but build quality is meant to be epic.

I've just had my Europipe Stage 1 delivered and will get it fitted early next week, I've done a bit of research and came to the decision that the EuroPipe would be perfect for me....no resonance(loads of grief with my old CSL), not so loud as too p*** my neighbours off on tickover and (hopefully) a nice roar on full throttle!

I'll post some pictures and views as soon as I get it fitted.

I'm pretty sure DMS use the Milltek system, and they also give a boost of up too 100bhp with a ECU remap. Milltek, Europipe and Tubi are all supposed to be great.

I'm pretty sure that this is the one fitted to my car, fitted when the re-map was done. Sounds very tame on tickover and low revs but once you get past 4000rpm what a noise!!! absolutely fantastic and very very loud.

I'll try and have a look underneath and look for any tell-tale signs to manufacture and report accordingly.

Had a miltec on mine found it perfect not to loud and made a 911 noise unlike the hover like noise a standard car makes. I had a fabspeed system before this and it was horrid took it of the very next day way to loud

Have you actually heard the Europipe Stage 2 Loud version? other than the footage on their website.

I've read good feedback with regard to build quality, fit & power gain, although when I heard this system on a 996 GT2 I very nearly purchased I was a little underwhelmed by its tone. Its very stock like on tickover/low revs which is a good thing IMO, however compared to the system I have now there was no real wail or throat to the system which left me a little disappointed if i'm honest... the GT2 is a fire breathing monster none the less. hehe

I know that each and every car will give a slight different sound and maybe this was an exeption confused either way good luck with the fitting and be sure to let us know your thoughts once fitted

when you get it fitted I'd be interested to hear it, I have a modified system on mine which I may change soon as I am considering taking mine north of 600bhp. Aswell as different turbos I think the next power upgrade comes with either miltech or cargraphic exhaust - although at this stage I confess I know little about either - so would be interested to hear what you find out......do you ever go to the ace cafe as I need to get along to one of those meets.

I guess that means I may be selling my exhaust system in the future

Think 108db at 6k revs is gonna sound loud enough.. for me anyway ! eek

My Stage 1 quiet will be fitted by tomorrow....had to cut the clamps as they were both seized solid!!

I'll post up some video over the weekend and test it with my noise meter to see how it compares to Europipes claim...doesn't half look good though!

Well I done a few miles with the Europipe stage 1 fitted and I am well impressed! Firstly the noise is just right for me...sounds like standard on tickover and builds up to metallic roar on full throttle. The turbos seems to spool up a bit quicker and the boost gauge is going to 0.8 bar and holding it rather that 0.6 bar...reckon I need to got a remap to check the fuelling.

I'll try and do some MPEGS over the weekend and also test how noisy it really is.

Cheers

Just going back to the sound issue..
Most exhaust systems need a 1000 miles or so to bed in and actually achieve the designed sound.
When I had the Manthey system on the RS, it sounded stock at first, but after some proper mileage and driving, started to howl.

Stef advised me that the loud system could be too much for the GT2 (less insulation), but I want to notice a big difference for the money spent.

IMO
