Hi all I am posting this for my brother who is over from belguim at the moment. He wants a 993 turbo bodied tiptronic (must be tiptronic) hard top not convertible or targa with FPSH anyone on here know of one or is selling one?
Thanks Colin

The model you're after is a Carrera 'S', often referred to as a Carrera 2 S or C2S. Don't know of one for sale though. Personally I'm not a fan of tiptronic on the 993 - the difference between having 6 gears in the manual box and only 4 in the auto is quite noticeable.

Porsche never did a widebody Targa, either. He shouldn't have too much bother finding a C2S Tip, though. Ditto on the above comment regarding the Tip. By the time you've saddled a 993 with that and fattened and widened its rear haunches for cosmetic reasons, you've really turned a fox into an elephant.

The only official widebodied 993s were coupes. However, a strange "built specially fort the Sultan of Brunei" widebodied cab came up in the trade recently. If you pay the price, they'll make it how you want it - hang on, isn't Burger King's strapline something like that?

Thanks for the replies the reason it must be tiptronic is my brother had a motorcycle accident some years ago and lost an arm and a leg. Looked at a couple at the weekend trying to convince him to get a 996 seems a better car for the same money

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. You're entering murky waters on the whole 993 vs. 996 thing. Best try both - though if it is to be a Tiptronic, I'm reasonably certain you'll both prefer the 996. Best stick to the independents as well, given OPC reputations in the arm and leg department.

Sorry. Too soon?
