Entertaining, but I was a bit confused.

Top Gear sells in the US and has a loyal following there.

So, the programme's US content seemed to make sense, appealing to the american audience.

But JC was pretty scathing about the place, and rounded off by recommending no one should go there.

LMAO - do you think that the bit involving the rednecks was staged or was it genuine Deliverance style hicksville?

PS How long do you think it will be before the PC police complain about the treatment of the dead cow?

Unbelievable! JC has become a real life hero!

I lived there for over 7 years (the last 18 months in Washington DC as a corporate Chief Technology Officer servicing all the US Gov, NGO and military), and and he was being kind to the place - believe me. My Wife, Daughter and I fled the place and as we were leaving we felt like Jews leaving Germany in 1934.

When was the last time a nation flew so many flags?

JC is on the Americans official 'Enemy of America' list big time now, and that's not somewhere I'd dare to be. And believe me they really have such lists. And he's there because he's told the truth.

And the next time JC enters the US he'll show up on the Neanderthal immigration guy's computer and he will be dealt with immediately. That makes him a hero in my book.

Sacha Baron Cohen with Borat has done exactly the same thing but he's been less literal so they haven't figured him out yet.

If 5th gear was only 10% as good as this, it would be a great show.

I saw the episode last night and laughed till I cried.

I do miss the original program format though.

I've got a foot in both camps here, relations in the states and spent many a holiday there. I've personally found the locals very friendly and I think if you dabbed offensive slogans on your car in any part of the world your going to get trouble !
Still I like the show but they should keep more to cars !

Pretty Poor really! You have to bear in mind what they really think at TG!
JC knowledge and technical evaluation of any car is at best mediocre, he only gets
the gig for his unique slant and made for TV comments. Dont take him too seriously! he holidays all the time in the USA! has a house on the IOM and in secret all of the TG drive at least one Porsche each!

Right on there Pugsey mate! Think TG is aimed at spotty 17-20 yr olds driving
souped up corsa's..who find it all a bit of a giggle. Accurate technical evaluation
of some of the supercars they host on the show would be greatly appreciated by us knowledgeable audience...

I thought it was bloody funny, nothing to do with cars however just an hour of semi-comedy/entertainment..i cant believe people on this forum cant just see it for what it is,its not supposed to be an in-depth technical instruction programme for petrolheads.Maybe Porsche owners lack a sense of humour..apart from Cayenne and Boxster owners that is laugh

Actually Pugsey may be a fan of the show - his comment is a little ambiguous. I'm not 17, have never had to resort to Clearasil and certainly have never owned a Nova...but I still think TG is generally excellent superb entertainment - that's "Entertainment".... I agree though that they could have broadcast this as a "special" in the months when TG is off the air - but I guess that Hamster's accident might have left them a little thin on content?
