Folks, I'm looking to upgrade my 996C2 to a 996 GT3 Mk2.

I've looked on classifieds and nothing really tickles my fancy. Just wondering if any of you guys may be looking to get rid of your P&J's, perhaps looking for an upgrade to a 997 GT3?.

My preferences are:

996 GT3 Mk2, 2003 onwards, low miles, would prefer red but will consider any colour apart from yellow. Clubsport package.

Most of all the car has to be mint with full history etc.

Anyone looking to sell?.

Darren (wetWipe) linked to one for sale that was rather nice a little while back, worth dropping him a line seeing if it is still for sale..

this one?

its at OPC colchester. a SOR vehicle so although its up for strong money there is a deal to be done.

it has been prepped very well and is spotless as far as i can see. a cursory glance at the PCCBs suggest they are OK, although if you do fancy the car PM Slippy as he is now the accepted authority on the purchase of a car with PCCBs that are ed

iirc the car itself has 4 previous owners but the mileage is low and warrantied by the OPC. the engine sounds as tight as a cats ar*shole

its done 13500 miles and is up for £60k!

My 3 is in the classifieds, I'll sell it for £51k or it goes to a dealer on SOR on Friday.

Shame about the yellow as Cardiff OPC has a minter with Clubsport package. Strong money tough at just under £60K

I think the Kent OPC had a yellow GT3 up for sale the other week at 55K on a 53 plate but that's gone now

There are now 7 03/04 GT3 on PH for under 50k...in some cases well under...I can see there being almost no difference in mk1 and mk2 prices soon if this continues.

the Mk2's have suffered from the 997 coming out and a load of people (like me) jumping into RS's or Gt2's.

The standard 996's are falling and the Mk1 will do soon, why buy a Mk1 at Mk2 money, I know you will say its a purer car etc etc but its older and techically inferior. It'll happen soon!

If you're looking for a technically superior GT3, buy the 997GT3RS. The cognoscenti, like yourself , know that the older GT3s are about a lot more than just how fast it goes. Mk1s and Mk2s will eventually trade for the same price, before the Mk1 actually holds a premium because of it's unique features, history amongst hand made Porsches, and character. I've always believed that the Mk2 will suffer the most (price wise) of all GT3s.

Well, it certainly isn't me who's trying to sell Mk2s at near identical Mk1 prices in the classifieds!

Gra001, now that is a car that I like, however surely the price is way over the top for a Mk2 even if it is a minter????.

Thanks for all your input folks, keep it coming...

Maybe the mk2 owners are in touch with reality, unlike the mk1 owners?

Yep, high price but I guess you get what you pay for and if you keep it for quite a time the pain seems less!!! May have gone now.........can`t see it on their site.

Hope the 996 GT3RS doesn`t go down too much. Demand/prices seems to be high at present.

I reckon the 996 GT3RS will hold it's value quite well over the long term even though they are going through a small bubble at the moment. Imho, there are 2 icons in the 996 range of GT3s: the Mk1 (original) and RS (first RS Porsche synonymous with the GT3).
