The battery ran down on my 993 and when I charged it back up the Alarm developed a mind of its own. Does anyone know of a decent alarm place in Hertfordshire (St. Albans)?

Normally I have found that if you reset it (with the little key) at the siren box all is well.

I've have a sim problem on my PA2000....at the moment i am getting no responce from the remote key.

I spoke to a guy at Hamilton Palmer (www.hamilton-palmer.co.uk) who was a good help but told me that, although they fitted some alarms for porsche in the 993's, most of the systems were fitted by the dealers or when they arrived in the uk at a depot.

I Checked the obvious like the battery in the remote unit.....Checked the in-line fuses under the dash....but no joy

hope someone can help you and i will tag on if thats ok with you - Thanks

Chris W.

Got to be worth a try, give an OPC a chance to prove how helpful they can be.

I have the little key I'm going to try and the keyhole. I have looked for that but cant seem to find it. Is the keyhole actually on the siren?

Apparently some are on the siren and others are on a bracket beneath the driver's seat.

You need the red remote unit to reprogramme the unit. If you don't have one then you need to remove the motherboard from under the drivers or passengers seat and then send it off to Hamilton Palmer who for about £100 will send you a reprogrammed one with a new red fob.

Getting the seat our and reomving the board is easy - about half an hour. pm me if you need help

Mine did the same last Christmas

James thanks for your advice on the phone. Managed to take out the circuit board and will be sending it off tomorrow. I also took some photos of the process and will paste them later on in case anyone else has to do the same thing.

Careful posting too much about this on a public forum.
