959 books

[hell_gelb]

There is an old, hard to find book on the 959 by Stefano Pasini (ISBN 8885058515). Has anyone seen it / read it? There are one or two around at various prices and it's the only book I've seen that is dedicated to the 959. Wondering if it's worth the outlay.

Also - has anyone got 'Velocity' by John Lamm? Supposed to have a decently large section on the 959 but I've not seen a copy in the shops, hate ordering that sort of thing online in case it's rubbish.

It hasn't got loads of pages (96), but there are a lot of nice illustrations - photos, technical drawings and graphics.
Its text is laid out in three columns, in Italian, English and French.
Not sure what one would cost you these days, but it is a good book on the subject. In addition to going over the history of the car's development and its technology, there are chapters on the race versions (both rally cars and 961 Le Mans cars) and on driving impressions.
There is another book exclusively on the 959 that was published in limited numbers. The quality of the printing is very high, it has excellent photos, and comes with a solid metal medallion nestled inside the cover.
I can't find it at the mo, but they go for a lot - current market value is maybe £500. The Pasini book is definitely better value for money.

Thanks Flemke. Think I'll get that Pasini book.

There's quite a lot about the 959 in one of the volumes of Excellence was Expected.
