Well the GT3RS is on order but be lucky to see one this year, however saw Tom Hartley adverting an Orange RS (assume now sold) and he now has a stunning White GT3, also seen a few adverts on autotrader. Anyone know of ideally a Viper Green RS or White GT3 available or likley in the near future as I'm already fed up with the wait,, many thanks

That's a joke!!
I wonder if a new GT3 owner drove his car out of one OPC straight to the nearest other OPC how much they'd give them under list??

List price £88000 - "we'll give you £75000 Sir and be thankful" rolleyes

As it happens - in the interests of research I called an OPC and offered them my two month/2000 miler and they offered me £2k below list. They had a customer waiting.

something to do maybe with buying an Aston softtop ? ;-)

my mate at works getting the AMV8 Cab, i am going for GT3 - both great cars in their own way. But apart from price they are totally different.

Not bad i suppose. I wonder how much they'd have sold it for?

Slightly different question - If you were to depreciate a new £88000 GT3 at £5000 per annum (on paper), at what value/time scale would the paper written down value 'catch up' with market value?

Crystal ball anyone?

dont get the question - are you saying for market value at year t, call this MV(t), for what t does:

MV(t) = MV(0) - (5000 * t)

? and if so - why are you asking this?!

Well after year 1 the paper value will be £83000 (88-5) but the market value may be, say £80000. After year 2 the paper value would be £78000 (83-5) and the market value may be £70000.

Eventually, the market value drop may slow up enough for the £5k per year to catch up...yeah?

I was just wondering over what time scale this may happen.

first year drop will always be 15-20% drop if selling to an OPC as they can only sell at list and need to maintain margin, but us fools who want these cars have to accept this

i reckon that would be well into the life of the car - say year 10+, given that a good 3Y value is 65% of original value.

whatever way you think about it , cars are not good investments, so best not to think about that side :-)
