Hi guys,

As an ex 996 turbo owner i am again in the market for a new vehicle of this type to replace the 996 that departed 12 months ago. At that time i had an order placed for 997 turbo however due a change to a change of heart i went for a different choice (which i regretted until i sold it). Now severly tempted by a 997 turbo, however...one thing is really holding me back....those wheels!! oh dear god, why did Porsche take design hints from Halfords specials! They dont even fit in with the car. My local Porsche centre says there are no alternatives and any other wheel could cause serious problems with the car, is this true? Its such a shame Porsche have gone down that route of wheel design, they are too edgy and just not Porsche at all!

A chap on 6speedonline called Atomic80 has put 997 GT3 wheels on his 997 turbo, it looks great.

Your dealer knows absolutely nothing about cars if he said those things lol

Totally agree with adamt, the 997 GT3 Wheels look superb on the TT, as previously mentioned why any Dealer would tell you that is beyond me! There are many aftermarket wheel manufacturers who produce as good as and marginally better wheels than Porsche who would quite happily give you statistics as to why there would be no problems.

Happy wheel hunting.

C.

White turbo £112k when you trade it in they want you to give it to them for nothing (Because its White)
go black safer option (my wife thinks the wheels came from halfords - but they do look much better on black car
if im allowed to say)

Ooooohhhh......those pictures have me all hot and bothered.

I love these cars in white. I think I may find out how much to get mine resprayed....What do you think it would do to the re-sale value?
