Standard seats v Hard back sport seats in 993/964

Anyone had proper experience of both?

I've heard the standard seats called "comfort" seats before but wondered if they were actually more "comfortable" than the hard back sports seats that I currently have in my 993.

And what benefits does a "Sport Seat" actually give me?

I have the "comfort" seats, I regularly do long trips abroad, and they are genuinely comfy, on average I do about 50K a year in cars and really suffer bad seats, these are excellent, the lateral grip isn't bad, not quite as good as the old 3.3 turbo seats which I imagine are similar to the sports seats, and I've been on track and not had any issues.

But to be honest I find most Porsche seats nice, short of the buckets I've never sat in an uncomfortable Porsche.

To add to this, I would say that I have a sport seat - but not hard backed - in my 993C4S.They seem quite different to the comfort seat. Very comfortable too but don't hold you in enough on track. Where are you based?

I've got the sports seats in my 964 (not hard backed) and they are really comfy.
Do a few trackdays a year and the support is fine.
The 964 is probably the only car I have owned that doesn't make me stretch and moan about back ache when I've been on a long journey.

actually, i swap might not be such a bad idea, although the "donor" will have to be right ie standard comfort seats, marble leather, 993.

I've had hard backed sports seat and comforts in 993's. I've found you can get a better driving position in the comforts as the 8 way electric adjusters offer finer adjustments.

Other than that though I prefer the sports - hard back or not - as the comforts don't give enough lateral support.

Anyone want to swap some black sports seats for 8-way comforts?
