Hi Guys - THA for feedback on this one. Looking to scratch the '911 itch' I've had for years and would appreciate advice on which model of 993 to go for and what to look out for in terms of potential problems. What can I expect to get for £25k?

Also any recommendations on multicar insurance companies as car will be an addition to current 'fleet'.

Any of the non wide bodied cars, coupe, targa or conv. Mid millage good example, but you might have to look at a few

I have 4 on a Norwich union policy.

I would start with a call to one of the better known independants. 911 virgin ,RSJ, etc

Hartech have a 993 coming onto their books - that will be a well sorted car.

Don't think you'll find any 993's at RSJ, but try Paul Davyea, Finlay Gorham or Paul Stephens, Strasse, DAP and Nortway who also have 993s in stock.

Dont rule out private sales via Porsche Post, classified`s on here or the Porsche magazines 911 & PW, Total 911, etc,.

More risk, less pressure, better VFM, more fun?...But get an inspection!

I wouldn't worry too much about varioram/non-varioram, or 2 wheel drive/4 wheel drive; as Henry says...buy on condition!! In fact the non-varios had a closer ratio gearbox, so very little difference in performance.
Drive a few and buy whichever 'floats yer boat'...it really doesn't matter.

If you're anywhere near London then check out 911virgin.com.

Henry currently has a C2 and a C4 in your price range.

What's wrong with the wide bodies?

Nothing wrong with them. They are very desireable, hence they will tend to be above the OPs budget.

if it is a weekend car, i would suggest a Targa or Cabriolet, and keep it Manual
