996 c2 Oil Pressure ??

Just a quick question have owned the car for 18 months (my 99) with no problems, my oil pressure when i bought the car was showing above 5 even on tick over, i knew the car had just had a complete engine replacement so i put it down to this but 18 mths on the oil pressure is still the same above 5 whatever the revs,
is this norm or is something wrong??

Oil pressure will be 4-5 bar when the engine is cold at tickover.

When warm, oil pressure should be between 1-2 bar at tickover, rising to 3-4 bar at mid range revs and light throttle, and then 4+ when at high revs / under full load.

Sounds like the gauge is faulty.

Check you oil sending unit. Common problem. Very unlikely it is the guage.
