Would you buy this car ?

Found a 2000-W 996 which is what I'm looking for, but just found out from the dealer that its "full service history" actually has a 26 month gap.
Goes something like ...
26/2/01; 8348 miles; AFT Porsche, minor service
13/3/02; 19,176;AFT Porsche, major
26/2/03; 24,927; AFT Porsche, yearly check
23/2/04; 32,713; AFT Porsche, yearly check
2/5/06; 43,508; Porsche works (never heard of them); yearly check and major service.
Unfortunately there are only stamps and no service receipts.
Dealer is prepared to put car through 111point check and OPC warantee though.
Thoughts ?

I am sure there will be some far more learned opinions on shortly, but IMHO that service history really doesn't look all that great.
e.g without receipts it's hard to tell if it's gone 4 years and 24k miles without an oil change or not.

You've probably seen these already, but if not

Just to give you an idea, look at the service history in this thread (halfway down the 1st page)

Just a thought....
Entertain me if you will...
But at that age (2004 when the car had the service b4 its 26 month "gap"
the vehicle was likely well outside the highly generous Porsche 24 months from new guarantee...
As such, when the servicing intervals are meant to be 12 months / 12000 miles on this car, and the car was covering possibly 6000 miles per year with that onwer, is it not more than likely that the owner did (like I would do) missed the annual check, just getting it done roughly 12000 miles later?
We can all point fingers, and yes we may have our own reasons for not buying the car if it was us...
But this doesn't seem that bad to me, unless it can be proved otherwise of course!

You only have to look at the lonman GT2 thread to realise that when service history is'nt present there usually is a more sinister reason for it. It may not make it a bad car but it will certainly have a big effect on the price. Its a shame I know, but when dealing with large amounts of money you just cant take people at face value.

If this is was happened , it wouldn't be the end of the world , but the way I read it , he got the car serviced in '02 (with oil change) then drove it some 4 years til the next oil change , doin what , some 25,000 miles between?

Correct me if I am wrong, but we don't know that it was a one owner car...
The change in owner to a low mileage driver in 2004 could be the reason?
It would be fairly unlikely for a 2000 W 996 to have one owner from new IMHO...
Can anyone shed any light on the number of owners and when the car changed hands through the years?
