Very nice looking...a tad OTT on price perhaps? The problem you face in this price bracket is VERY early 993 with higher mileage. While I like the SSE and consider it to be more exclusive than the Carrera 3.2 I can't help but think it's slightly slower than the standard model given the extra weight of body and brakes. Of course this is true of the S model 993's, but doesn't seem to have the same effect on price as they are very wide apart. However you may well appear to those that consider the Carrera 3.2 the last of the proper 911 and SSE to be more exclusive.
Good luck with the sale though.
Good luck with the sale though.
If mileage was less than maybe, due the exclusivity of the Supersport and the 930 shape.
Seen a couple of SS Cabs around at this sort of price though with fewer miles.
These are becoming rare now though and as stated earlier, yes you could pick up a 993 with a few miles on for that money, but if this was along term purchase the SSE will be more exclusive in a few years.
Good luck with the sale

Fair points guys, we all have our views, I guess I'm in no rush and if someone is looking for the last shape revision and not a Turbo as it might be a easier car to maintain, then that could be my buyer. I've had a decent amount of interest so not too worried about it selling. It might be a better selling 911 than 964's and other models due to the iconic shape.
I've seen 996's for under 20k so I see where your coming from but G50 SSE cars ain't in abundance and I think it might not sell at that price but if someone offers me cash then I might accept but like I say I'm in no rush and loving using her as much as I can.
The sale is genuine and is purely as I have bought a Murcielago and my wife is pregnant and I can't see me getting use of her and as she is such a stunning example (mileage excluded) I feel it a waste to let her just sit in my garage.
I think whilst the mileage is high it has impeccable service history to go with it, so not too bothered or I'd not have bought her.
Thx for all the comments so far.

I would agree, if you do want to sell the car then you might need to have a bit of a re-think on the price. It`s always hard when you are as close to the car as you clearly are and have just spent money on it. Be carefull you manage to see the wood for the trees. A car we sold just before Christmas :
A 3.2 Supersport we recently sold
The number on the speedo does dictate the most you can ask for a car, the car it`s self the price up to that point. 160k mls isn`t a problem at all, especially given your vehicle`s age. You just need to make sure you`re not pricing it as if it were a 50k mls vehicle
good luck.

Do you think a car thats had 10k spent on it and is also a coupe is not more interesting to people that a lower mileage car that is a Targa or Cab Henry?
I personally don't like higher mileage cars either but I met the owner at the garage he services it at and he'd owned it for 9 years and he was the nicest guy you could meet, but he'd used the car day in day out and it was rough.
I paid 8.5k for the car and orginally hgad a budget of 5k for it, but the problem is when you start yopu can't stop trying to make it like new, and apart from the window frames mayeb needing a rub down and repainted the car is like new and drives fantastic.
Anyway the cars for sale, and TBH if she didn't sell then I'll be happy to keep her in use as much as possible in my garage.
Thx

Looked like a good deal Henry, not sure about the "clean spoilerless" look on a 930 shape though, especially a Cab, but hey with miles like that on the clock and the rarity value, sell all day

Yes a great looking car but well over priced. Apart from the point about the 993s you are going over the top of almost any 964s except turbos and rs versions.
Yeah but it's not a 964, or a 993 so I done' think it equates to that, I might be wrong it has been known.
Thing is, I seen this car several times when getting serviced, and I had a 964 at the time and owned 993's before that and just loved it's styling much more than the other 911's I have to say.
If there was another well restored G50 coupe for sale then I'd have to say the price could be different but there isn't any nice cars as far as I know, and the other one on PH is an older model so I've got no idea what the car will sell at.
I think a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and everyone can offer views but the only person that truly knows it's worth is the person with an open cheque book to buy.
I think perhaps the issue is one of timing. In x amount of years time it is well possible that this car would support a higher value. I'm not sure the current market supports this price though, but in years to come as numbers of surviving cars come down, it's possible depending on how valued this model becomes and that is speculation at the moment.
As you say though, if you find that person that's willing to open his cheque book then great. If not then it maybe better to hang on to it and see what happens for the future.

Fair point:
i suppose i was been speculative given the prices you see these fetching today and the fact that anything in good order with the iconic 930 shape will always command a premium over more run of the mill 911's,look at the last 2 Henry has sold both fetched a premium both were in exceptional order no doubt, so anyone wanting the wide bodied 930 shape but with 3.2 running/servicing costs over the Turbo will pay for that premium IMHO.
Alternatively may just to wanting the car you had on an Athena poster as a lad!!
IMHO Paul no offence intended but it is to way to expensive. It looks to be a lovely car but with a 156,000 miles on the clock a lot of people would not want to take the risk with regard to potential engine or gearbox problems. I note that the car has had a new clutch but there is no mention of any engine or gearbox work carried out.
My view right or wrong is that if the car needed new front wings and a complete retrim to make it nice again then the chances are the mechanicals need freshening. Send Henry a pm and ask what he would bid for the car or retail the car for my guess is that you might be in for a shock. You may well say b*ll*cks i'd rather keep it for that money and I would not blame you.
My guess although perhaps a little harsh would be £10K max to buy. A while back I asked Henry if he would sell my other halves 107series 500 SL Merc that was mint. From memeory he reckoned he would give £5K for it max as he really did not see any value in it. I sold it for £14,250 but in fairness Henry deals in Porsches and not Mercs.

You aving a laugh?
are you talking private sale or part ex here?
Why don't you check out what the last 2 Supersports were sold for at Henry's? (18k & 24k)
Okay the latter was a bit special due to ultra low mileage, but still a premium.
10k for a Supersport in good nick is dreaming don't see many proper SS in nice condition with history sold for less than 14-15k end of story.
3.2 narrow body or an SC yes or even a 964 but not these.
Sorry don't agree.

Agreed.
I think this is low mileage territory on price. However, well done - the car looks stunning and you've obviously got all the info to tell a prospective buyer.
But Henry's right in that it's maybe a £16-17000 car tops.

so you spent 8.5k on the car and 10k on running / improving it and now expect it to be worth 20k? Classic mistake in spending too much on a restoration.
At almost 20k thats good turbo money, i was offered a decent 88/E 3.3 Turbo with 60k miles and FSH for £17k a few months back.
Perhaps porsche club might find you a buyer but think there is more value in lower mileage and non restored and would estimate yours is worth £14-£17k tops.

No offence taken mate. My car has so much history a viewing or fax copy of all invoices would need to show any work carried out, she was maintained with no expense spared so I know the car needs nothing mechanically and drives better than a 20k car IMHO. Not sure what your Merc story is all about as that means Henry was either out by 70% or he coulndae be bothered with yer Merc, either way not sure what it has to do with the value of my 911 SSE. If you can find a SSE with my condition then for 10k you've won a watch fella.
Anyway maybe the car is slightly over priced but there isn't much competition and honeslty it was tears getting that work done as I did some by my fair hands, and have the cuts to show you......you try getting bellows off!!
The cars that price and could be discounted if a genuine buyers views.
