Any thoughts on whether I can expect a discount for getting both done at once. I am definitely going to ask, just wondering if anyone had any experience or views of the above please.

If the 24.000 m service is a "big" service - I cannot remember - then the 111 point check is free of charge - that is what i got app 18 months ago.

No harm in asking I suppose, but wouldn't get your hopes up too much !!

Thanks Christian - it is the big one. Now if only someone at the OPC would return my call from this morning ...

Which OPC out of interest ?

Yep , I got my 111 free of charge with a 48k check .. That is a slightly bigger check than the 24k one ..
I think the deal was , if I took out the warranty , I got the check thrown in with the service.. The snag might be, if they find stuff the needs to be fixed and you don't want to get it done , then , no warranty , and the 111 check would probably be charged..

expect OPc to find a few things that need doing. They might give you a free check, but they wont give you a warranty unless the car is spot on. That's why they charge a premium on their prices as the work has been done ( that and the fact they have very nice expensive facilities tp pay for)

Thanks guys, good stuff to know.

Looking through the service schedule, new spark plugs are due every 48k or 4 years. My car is a 2001 with 24k miles and the receipts don't show it as having been done, so any reason not to do it at the same time as 111 pt check/service ?

Does anyone have a scan / download link to the service schedule. I'm still looking for a 996 and it would be useful information to be armed with.

Mine goes into Sutton Coldfield on Monday. It's the 48k service and she needs a warranty too. The service dept. have said they'll do the 111 point check for nothing. I hope they don't turn round and charge me for it if they do find anything wrong, as I still have the dealer warranty on her and they will be sorting out any issues, not the OPC.

Mine was a 2001 C2 facelift serviced at OPC West London.

Service prices/schedule from porsche website
www.porsche.com/filestore.aspx/default.pdf?pool=uk&type=download&id=porscheservice-servicepricing-type996&lang=none&filetype=default

A ninemeister one I found which is interesting reading as they give you their thoughts on servicing intervals.
www.salenca.com/published/39.html

Also try and make sure you can see the receipts:
The book may be stamped with a minor service, but it is possible that for example an oil change wasn't carried out, if it wasn't deemed neccessary at the time.
Some services and specific items are distance or time dependent, just because they should have been done, doesn't mean an OPC stamped car has had them done.

So the outcome:

111 pt check was £100 cheaper, but couldn't do it for free due to the EU rules and regulations. Not convinced and baptistan I still think you'll be fine at Sutton Coldfield on monday.

Quoted £723 for front brakes and discs - these do need doing
Porsche website quotes £648
JZM quotes £552

Quoted £690 for rear brakes and discs - don't need doing yet but are somewhat corroded
Porsche website quotes £652
JZM quotes £495

Anyone have a view on upgrading discs and pads front and back, given I will have to replace them all by the end of this year anyway ?

Suggested lower front arms etc. be replaced for £1589 as bushes are worn, will be seeking a 2nd opinion and price quote on that one.

Have a 2nd full bottle of Mobil 1 in the front compartment that they have charged me for. As there is 1 in there already, I have a 2nd for my mantlepiece.

The good news is there were no warranty items, but the random pricing and not returning 3 phone calls within the last 48 hours tells me they really have little interest in my business.
