Another 996 GT3?
Discussion
Having owned numerous 911s over the years (including a year with a 2003 996 GT3)upto my current 997 C2S, I now find myself greatly missing the GT3! I've found what I think is a good value 996 GT3 at my local PC (Tonbridge) in good old Speed Yellow with PCCB brakes for just under £55,000 looking very yellow an in mint condition. My question is what do you knowledgable GT3 guys think will happen to the value of 996 GT3s over the next 12 months and am I a nob for going 'back' to a 996 from the C2S (the C2S is great but doesn't make we go
OMG and
WHEYHEY!!! like the GT3 used to). Non-smutty answers please...

GT3 seems to be holding its price from whats around at the moment....the mighty GT3MK1 is without a doubt the one to go for unless you want to move across to the RS side....and if yah dont mind LHD cars there seems to be a few for 35kish....great value in my eyes for such a focused 911

I thought about a Mk1 GT3 when I bought my last MkII but from what I could gather, albeit they are rarer they tend to be a tad more temperamental? A friend owned one and when it wasn't bursting coolant pipes it had an Amaco Cadiz sized oil leak underneath
I think I've set my heart on a Mk11 if I think it's not going to drop too much further?!sambaman said:
mmmm...i aint personally heard that before ( im sure some of the GT3 guys will have come across that before ...) but im a aircooled guy really BUT AND BIG BUTT i do have a place in my heart for some water pumpers......Hence me buying my old GT3RS back.....
LOL Keith likes BIG BUTTs and water pumpers... !
And someone telling porkies about Mk1s again! Hands up who's had a Mk1 with coolant/oil problems...

..................THOUGHT I HADNT NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE ..SURE THERE PRETTY MUCH BULLET PROOF !! Hold out to March, should be a few more on the market then. Does that Tonbridge one have air con?
Colchester have a nice black one, but it's 60k.
I prefer my 997 S to my 996 GT3 RS, but to be fair I'm more into road driving so thats probably why.

Not a bad price, obviously could get much better deal private, but atleast this way you have dealer support.
It's not the greatest time to be buying a 996 GT3 though imo, they havn't really been hit hard yet by the 997 gt3, I think in March the OPC network will have more part x's flying about which should push it down abit further.
I only got 58k when I traded in my RS 9 months ago, and i've seen private GT3's as low as 46k. Scary stuff.

If anyone is after a GT3, we have a 6,000 mile 2004 '04' in stock, priced at £59,995. Car is mint just had the AUC check, 2 new rear tyres and is ready to roll. Was serviced only a few hundred mile ago and has the print out from the service showing no zone 2 ignitions, ie not been over revved
